I didn't bother to ask, just headed for the nearest terminal and parked. Worked to my advantage when I unloaded in Wilmington, CA (near the ports) and headed for Fontana. The next morning I got a van pre-plan which picked up in Otay Mesa which I accepted. 5 minutes later I got a dispatch to DH to Fontana and drop my skateboard. I walked inside the terminal and asked "Who needs a flatbed?" I then sent a message saying that I was @ Fontana and dropped my trailer. 15 minutes after accepting the preplan I was on my way to Otay Mesa bobtail to pick up my van load.

    Ontario,CA Petro.

Been busy with student, former roughneck from Bakersfield, a perfect student for flatbedding. Hard on the tranny though. Has a habit of just forcing it in. Getting better at not doing that.

Picked up in Harvey IL, we deliver in Chino in the morning at 7am. Steel tubing, proud of the tarp job even with help from the Crane. IMG_20161103_170716.jpg

    Someone stole my trailer.

I delivered last night at Sam's in Salt Lake. I was told to drop the trailer and park my truck, to pick it up in the morning with the paperwork left in the trailer.

When I woke up my trailer was gone, and it was in shop status at the Salt Lake terminal.

As I was asleep another Swift driver took my trailer, then went to the terminal. During the inspection they found a problem with the brakes and red flagged it.
And it was still assigned to me! I have no idea what truck took it.

No sign of the paperwork, so that is just another headache to deal with.

So from Salt Lake I had a trip to Lewiston, ID.
Nearly 700 empty miles to reposition my trailer, but I had a load out before I got there.

The planners worked it pretty well. The load is going to Aurora, CO, and I'll be pretty much on time for my home time there.
I couldn't pick up the load soon enough and the delivery had to be moved from the 9th to the 10th. But no matter, I'll be there for my daughters school stuff that she wanted me to attend on the 11th and 12th.
Too bad those 1100 miles won't be in this pay period.

I'm at a J in Billings, MT. It's the place I like, with the tobacco store across the street that carries my pipe tobacco.

Well, I had a nice home time in Denver with my girls.
Last night I made them salmon for dinner. Today was even better.

My middle daughter, Leann, is in Jr. ROTC in her freshman year in high school. She is in the color guard, and she was carrying one of the flags in the Veterans Day parade. She looked great in her uniform, and her school had one of the loudest voices.
The entire parade was great; from the motorcycles that led to the schools that ended it and everything in between.

From there we bought her a change of clothes so we could go see a movie. That uniform is so darn uncomfortable, you know.

Then we went to see Dr. Strange, in 3D. It is a fantastic movie.
And that cinema on 16th Street Mall is great. Big puffy chairs that recline - with retractable footrests, a table for each chair even. It was like sitting at home in a recliner chair.

And even though CO voted for Clinton, there was no sign of protests like there has been in so many places.
I guess Denver folks are more civilized.
It was just a good time for everyone involved.

Maybe it has something to do with everyone being so mellowed out in Denver. I know I would be.

Maybe the world should follow that example?

Gather all the pot in the world, and burn it in such a way as to distribute it throughout the air over the entire planet.

Get everyone high, all at once.

That would be a most interesting experiment.

Been a little while. Sitting in a hotel here in Spokane. Heading east this morning and just before the scales in Tokio hit something in the road. Heard loud bang and sparks and hurried and pulled into the closed scales. Got out and looking and fuel pouring out of one tank. Hurried and called the Police and in about 20 mins the highway DOT showed up followed by the Fire department. This happened around 0530. Then shortly after 0600 the WSP showed up and talked to me and got my information and came back to my truck and told me all good. No EPA needed (surprise) and no reports written up. Then according to WA law, 2 tow trucks. They are not allowed to pull a combo. I had to pay for the tow for my truck, A&A had to pay for the trailer tow, per roadrunner.
