Jenna, actually its gotten really bad in the last 6 months and really expensive . I got a room next door at Best Western and had really good Chinese food from the place by the Winn Dixie. That plus I'm somewhere between comfortably buzzed and #### faced which may have some influence on what the Chinese food was really like.

I'm three sheets to Four Roses. How are things working with Irma? This guy I got refuses to answer on Qualcomm.

As soon as they get the new ones trained I'm done with Irma. She's a micromanager, rude, disrespectful and a liar. I told Pete I would give him until January 2nd when she gets back from vacation to get me a new DM. I'm on my way to Richmond for hometime with my gal and will be getting things arranged to change terminals while I'm there. I don't need a DM since any of the drones can take care of the few problems I have but they insist I have one. I won't tolerate Irma and I've ignored her for weeks. I won't respond to any of her QC messages and when she calls I answer but hang up as soon as she identifies herself.

Get through the important stuff first ... Merry Xmas everyone and be safe those of you still on the road.

Home with the wife and daughter. We're working through a bottle of madeira, then a bottle of '95 cab that I had forgotten about. Then maybe a second bottle of madeira and if that doesn't get the job done there's always the 28 year old single malt.

    I'm hoping for something decent.
This '15 ProStar has been great for the 5 months I've had it.

I should have had another new truck, but they were all gone when I turned in my last truck.
After 6 years with Swift, I should have new stuff.
    I would think.

And, wow, all the DM problems.
I have been lucky it seems.

I ran into that just today when I was showing a new driver how to use the QC.
It seems his 'mentor' just had him running miles with very little training. He didn't even understand the 'c' option on the mac 9.
If he didn't like a message, or think he needed it, he would simply delete it. He was told by a couple people that it would slow down the QC if too many messages were stored.

He was fresh out of training and on his first load in his 'new' truck. But the truck had issues with the anti-lock system.
The shop told him to get off the load he was committed to because they needed to fix things, but his DM was giving him grief about it.
He is out of Lancaster, by the way.

I don't know what is wrong with so many DM's and mentors, but something needs to be fixed in this 'Best in Class' system.

    MysticHZ and FerrissWheel Thank this.

    Like, maybe...
Don't commit to so many loads when you know there are not enough drivers to cover them?

Swift knows which drivers will be available during these few days around Christmas, yet they have many more loads than that.
The driver I was with had committed to one of the loads I had turned down.

I turned down several loads because I was going to put my truck in the shop. But they still sent the pplans even after I told them why.
It is a lack of planning at the most basic level.

And that just puts more pressure on the DM's to make things happen, even when it would be dangerous to do so.

Merry Christmas from Roswell NM. Tcalling frame rails in SLC and heading to Vegas for the new year.

Planning, that would require thinking. Training..... I could write a book on that problem, but I'm sleepy thatll have to wait.

It's not the planners ... it's plus one. The automated system sets your pta and continues to send you the same loads over and over.

I'm not coming back to work until the 5th. But the system keeps setting my pta to 23:59 tonight.
