Agree with Frank about the neighborhood around the Petro, but the little Mexican place on the corner is really tasty. =D

El Rodeo is awesome good but Moose doesn't care for Mexican food.
Moosetek13 Thanks this. -
That's an understatement.
I made 620 miles today, currently at the Love's in Las Cruses, NM. 610 to go by 1700 in San Antonio tomorrow.
Delivering at a bad time, right in rush hour. Hopefully it won't be too bad. I won't have much time to spare if I want to get to the TA.
But I'll be going through El Paso at around 0500-0530 so I shouldn't get slowed down there. -
Splitting hairs here but the J and TA are only a mile up the road at the next exit and will have parking all night long. I'm a local San Antonio driver.
And yes the Mexican place is fantastic. LolMoosetek13 Thanks this. -
Thanks for the info, pocketaces.
My only real concern is having any time at all to drive once I deliver this load. 610 miles uses most of my 11, and if traffic is too bad too early I'll be out before or shortly after. -
TA in San Antonio.
Surprisingly I had 20 minutes left on my 11. I didn't hit any traffic until I got near here, and even then not that much. -
Madisonville TX.
Delivered pipe in Dallas and picking up train axels tomorrow, east of Houston. Heading back up to Chicago. -
Midland, TX.
I delivered to Sam's Club late last night. No empty trailers so it turned into a live unload.
Ended up spending the night at Sam's.
Then I got a pplan today for a Walmart load. My QC was on the fritz so I called to discuss it with my DM.
It was scheduled for pick up this evening about 180 miles away, but with the high winds I couldn't pick it up until morning. I'm not brave enough to be empty in 55 mph gusts.
If everything goes perfectly I should be able to make the final in El Paso tomorrow just within my 14.
If...
So I decided to go to the Love's a few miles away. On the way there a brake locked up with a blown chamber. After an hour and a half on the side of I-20BL the Love's repair truck showed up. He got me going well enough to make it back to the Love's, where they fixed it properly.
Hopefully tomorrow will be less eventful.
And hopefully I'll be able to get to my last stop within my 14. Once there I'm good for the night.fr8monkey and scottied67 Thank this. -
Denver, running solo.
Picked up in KC yesterday, and deliver in Cheyenne tomorrow. Came via Denver to avoid the nasty weather up on 80, and hopefully get in a 34 at my part-time co-driver's place. Woken up at 5 AM with a preplan picking up in Cheyenne at 6 AM tomorrow, so it sounds like simply a pleasant Saturday with one of my favorite people.
Moosetek13 Thanks this.
