A tornado wiped out the customs inspection facility in Nuevo Laredo at the World Trade Center bridge yesterday afternoon. The border crossing into Texas is closed indefinitely.

Before you accept a load down here you might want to verify the crossing has reopened. There is absolutely no freight coming to the terminal today and what's here will probably be planned out by tomorrow.

That might explain the communications issues at the terminal.

Brand new(4 months old) Flying J, Patterson, California. Set for an 0800 delivery to Novipax in Union City. Then I need to take a logging class, at I am guessing Lathrop. Never been there.

I'm sure they were happy with the phone free day. Its been a very long time since I haven't been able to get loaded out of here on a Monday so I'm taking a 34 I didn't need.

It looks like they are going to move their entire customs operation (Mexico side) to the Columbia Solidarity Bridge crossing since it will be weeks before they can reopen the World Trade Center bridge crossing. They've also figured out it was 70 to 80mph straight line winds and not a tornado that did all the damage on both sides of the border. A hurricane is 72mph and up.

I'm sure President Idiot and his minions are thrilled at any border closure even though it hurts truck drivers trying to make a living on both sides of the Rio Grande.

    Madera, CA at the Pilot.

I had a 1600 delivery appointment only to find out it is first come first served.
They only have one dock, so you wait in line.

    And they make you wait.
I pulled up behind another Swift, who was waiting on a Swift in the dock. That Swift had been there since 1400 and was waiting for a shift change all that time.
When he got done at around 1630 the next truck pulled in. It was over 30 minutes before they started his unload.
I pulled in at 1730 and waited 50 minutes for the unload to begin.
And the thing is, unloading takes all of 20 minutes! 8 big paper rolls each.

Georgia Pacific, in case you are wondering.
The one in Toledo, OR is MUCH better.

No pplan yet, so I'm waiting on that as well.
They'll probably sent one at 0500 wanting me to pick up 60 miles away at 0600.

I guess you don't like Trump?

It's a hard thing, though, when the only choices are Trump or Clinton.
Both are walking disasters, in my opinion - but for different reasons.

Trump is, by far, the more entertaining of the two.

The entire herd we had to chose from were nothing more than the proof of the utter failure of the public education system in this country. I have been voting since I reached legal age, two years after I was able to bear arms and die for my country, but this time I refused to vote for the choice between two complete scumbags. I predict the piece of #### in chief will not complete his first term because he's nothing more than a bag of hot fart air who will quit because he simply has no courage. Nixon was a better President than this turd.

Other than that I think he's just ####ing swell.

    Well then...

But I don't think he will quit. And I do think he has courage - of a sort.
Maybe bravado is a better term for what he has, and that won't allow him to simply quit.

Me? I've never voted in my life.
I've always been outside the 'box' (well, since I was three years old as far as I can remember...), and as such I just want to watch what happens as certain groups try to do things by a majority and others try to do it by simple force.
In the end both are simply people trying to control what other people do.
It's all a power struggle, and I have no need for that.

I do like to influence people however.
It is a form of control, I know. But it is a form of control that leaves their free will intact.
It is a way to introduce a 'view from the outside' that may, perhaps, leave them thinking in a different way.

Things like 'majority rule' or dictatorships don't do that. They seek to force everyone into their own little box.
