Reworking a load with almost 47k. Told the loader I can't legally haul it out of California but they refuse to take out weight. I think it's their 5th try. Been here since 5 pm in cabazon

I would have refused to sign the bills. Usually gets their attention.
Did the replan say 47K? -

nope said 40k. All in all they took off about 2k. Now it's 44 change with less than a half tank. When I first weighed it was 11800 35600 32300. Now it's 11700 3300 28743

At the Jurupa Valley (Mira Loma) terminal, got B service done, and waiting for our next dispatch for a coast to coast run.
Put in my application to become a mentor. I know, it might be hades, but I think I'll be a good teacher and would like to help the new generation be safe and successful.
When I was upstairs in the dispatch office I noticed a flatscreen TV in the corner with a map of the US and Canada with a series of either green or red circles with numbers in them. It was a graphic showing which areas had more loads than trucks or more trucks than loads.
The best places to be for getting a load:
1. Laredo
2. Chicago
Other than that San Diego through to Phoenix, Texas through the South.
The worst places to get a load:
1. Pacific Northwest
2. Atlantic States
3. Rocky Mountains
Exceptions to the rule with a few areas showing smallish green dots. -
Heard Kansas is going to get windy tomorrow afternoon ... With the wind possibly going around in tight circles! Guess where we will be in the AM? No slowing down to smell the roses on this trip! Except at maybe Colbey, KS... They have STARBUCKS!

if you become a mentor, will you not lose your dedicated run coast to coast since they have to do the first 50 hours solo, and if not ready, then longer.

Here at a QT off 180. Was on my way to pick up my load going to Laredo, got 4 miles away and load cancelled for now. Then they tried to give me a Houston load sitting on the yard for grocery warehouse at 0500 tomorrow. Not happening. Wonder just how many company trucks are sitting on the yard right now waiting for a load. Then they sent me a Portland, OR load for Saturday afternoon. Talked to my DM first and he told me that there is some freight up there and that come Friday he should not have a problem getting me something out of there by Sunday. If not, Monday morning. Well, at least I know very well where the Jubitz is. Thanks to losing the Laredo load and topping off yesterday, had to move some mad money around since was $700 in the hole. Now top off again before leave here. All of $3.69/gal. Only going to need about 50 gallons.
