Strong enough today to finally damage the tarp I've been using since I started this account.
Definitely not empty van friendly.

Denver, CO on home time.
I set my home time date for the 20th to give some leeway. My youngest daughter had a band concert on the 22nd (today) and she really wanted me to be there. I did too. I seldom get a home time when something is really happening.
Going through southern CA last weekend caused a delay because of the high winds. I had to shut down 70 miles from my destination for a day and a half. That put my delivery on the 20th.
I was lucky enough to get a load headed to NJ that I could t-call in Denver on the 22nd.
I was also lucky enough to be able to run between winter storms.
It was snowing this morning in Grand Junction when I got up. Another storm brewing, so I was concerned.
When I checked the CO road conditions there was a traction/chain law in effect for a couple places between there and Denver, but it seemed to only be for passenger vehicles. Nothing about CMV at all, so I headed out.
Turns out that it was correct. Passenger vehicles only, with no restrictions on trucks.
After I left Grand Junction I realized that I forgot to get fuel, and there is nowhere between the two points short of the TA West. My fuel level was less than 3 when I left GJ.
The gauge hit zero 130 miles before the TA, so I was sweating it.
Luckily the gauge is pessimistic and that my load only weighed 6700 pounds, so I made it to the TA for fuel.
And I made it to her concert.
Everyone is off Saturday, so we are planning to do something fun. Don't know what yet, that is up to them.FerrissWheel, JOHNQPUBLIC and scottied67 Thank this. -
It's good when all the tumblers fall into place ... also home. Go to the terminal later today to get the QC taken out, turn in my prepass, permit book and make it official.
FerrissWheel and Moosetek13 Thank this. -
I wish you all the best, Mike.
MysticHZ Thanks this. -

Vegas, taking the ZX10R for a ride to LA Jolla CA for the weekend. Gonna be a bit chilly till the sun comes out. Gonna be the longest trip I've taken on the new racebike. My much more comfortable and longer range 650r needs a new chain so it'll have too sit this one out.
It snowed here. Snow in Vegas, we don't see that often. It actually stuck to the ground in Jean for awhile. Between mountain pass and Halloran it was falling real good. Think it was like 4 years ago we had some.
Good luck MysticMysticHZ Thanks this. -
Spokane, WA at the Petro.
Pretty good day, after I sorted out all the wonky pre-plans.
I deliver a few miles away then head to Lewiston, ID for a paper load going to Las Vegas, NV.
I'm rather afraid to open the trailer for the live unload in the morning.
I have a load of empty cans. The trouble is, there are only 4 pallets. 1,272 pounds total.
The road is pretty bumpy along I-90 out of Seattle and over the pass.
I put a load bar at floor level to keep the back pallet from sliding back, but there really wasn't anything I could do to secure it any further. Straps were not an option and more load bars would not do anything for empty cans stacked in layers bouncing around. -
Headed to Clearwater I'm guessing. Cause Clearwater, Certainteed and Pabco are all #1 contender for paper.
I have never seen empty cans in person. I'm guessing these are somewhat notorious for not staying put.?
I typically return to Vegas around 12-2pm. Leave much earlier. Just in case you manage to spot the gypsum express.
It snowed 2 days ago, actually stuck to the ground in Hesperia and on Halloran. Now weather's great. Go figure -
Clearwater, yes, but the trailer had been moved to the terminal. So I dropped my mt at Clearwater then grabbed the trailer.
When I went in for the BOL they wanted me to get the Idaho permit. I said I had never had one and was told that I needed it if I wanted to take US 95 south.
Oh, OK. I had always been routed around the long way.
So I took US 95 out of Lewiston.
What a pretty drive, and I stopped here in Counsel for the night. I didn't want to chance the Orlando, OR truck stops at the time of evening I could get there.
When I opened up the trailer this morning I was rather surprised.
With all the bouncing, and not a singe can was on the floor.FerrissWheel and scottied67 Thank this. -
Had a very good student drive that one. I unfortunately missed out on it. I woke up in mcall Idaho. Went into the grocery store to witch we were also delivering. Then promptly went back to bed.

Ely, NV with a winter storm coming in. I'm hoping my luck holds as I'm near the southern border of the storm.
Some pretty good winds kicking up, but no rain or snow yet.
