Seems happen often in West Valley where they always double book a load. I had a load took away from me because another driver with the same load got to the shipper 15 minutes before I did. Now all the loads pre-planned from West Valley, I will have to be careful before accepting them.

It happens from time to time, and it just happened to me in MN last week. It was not the first time, and never has it been in the same area.
It just happens.
But as far as I can tell it is a problem more with the shippers than with Swift. The shipper will overbook a load for some reason, then not cancel one of them. Swift is not aware of the problem until one driver is left with no load to pick up.
And you can not 'be careful' before accepting a load, as you have no idea if it will happen.
That kind of thinking only leads to paranoia about accepting any load. -
Actually I meant to say be careful of “hyper focus load.” What you said about shipper double book is right. They just want to make sure a driver shows up and not flake out. Next time I get these loads, either I show up 2 hours early to pick up or I will ask for something else.

Parked at the rat hole Pilot in Memphis near the Mississippi state line, deliver to Ford tomorrow. Hoping to head back to Laredo next. I got out of Michigan early enough yesterday morning to beat the ice and snow .

That place really sucks (Pilot)
-
That Pilot is one of the only places I have had problems with lot lizards. Always dirty, always way too crowded, and always dangerous.
That one, and the one in Atlanta, GA. Don't know which is worse. -

They really are not different than any other load, aside from the upper level of 'High Value' loads.
Hyper focus is even lower than JIT loads, and I'm not sure why hyper focus was even added to the roster.
Just another flag that means nothing, in my opinion.
Just another way to try and get the load there on time.
Well, I get the loads there on time - if possible.
And it does not matter how it is flagged, I will shut down and be late if I need to do so.
I don't care about hyper or JIT or high value as much as I care about my own safety and getting the load there in one piece.
The only flag that I care about is the high value load that HAS to run 200 miles from the pickup before stopping.
Some of those are tracked every step of the way, at every minute.
I had one that had me fueling at a terminal even though I did not need the fuel and it added about 50 miles to my trip. I ignored it and continued on the direct route. I was not 'out of route' except for the fact that I didn't go south to the terminal and the north again, but I got a phone call a few miles later when I failed to go south.
They were not happy, to say the least. -
Just wondering...
Has anyone been watching the new Lost in Space series on Netflix?
I was a big fan back in the day of the original, then again of the recent movie.
This series takes it in a totally different direction.
It's almost like the last Star Gate series, Universe.
A bit darker, and with a whole new twist to the original concept. -
I'll probably watch it ... The original series was meh. Just wasn't a fan of the plant yourself in one spot and let the plot come to you ... I thought movie was awful.
