Usually you here a loud bang. Or muffled if it's noisy in the truck. You can hear tire thumping on the pavement. But I didn't hear or feel anything. Noticed the middle part of the tire was missing.
I think it happened pretty close to the truck stop. Driving 65 mph would have shredded the tire.
I have never blew a tire.... in a tractor or my personal vehicle

Fairfield ca.
Delivered that load this morning in Redding ca. Then they sent me to pick up a repower at pollard gas station. I5 ex 712.
Had to use the restroom so went inside.
Opened the door and they have a bathtub with a female mannequin (dressed) in the restroom lol
This load I delivered in Newark ca this afternoon. Then drove 3 hrs of traffic to drive 65 miles here in Fairfield ca. Have a 0700 appt. Tomorrow.
There is no truck stop around except in Vacaville.
So I am here in a dirt lot about 2 miles from shipper.
There was a Wal-Mart here but when I drove into the driveway it was all chained off. Was a local cop sitting there, so I talked to him for a few minutes. He gave me directions to the other Wal-Mart, saying this one had closed obviously lol. Got there and was nowhere to park. Barely got out of the lot. Went next shopping center, parked and went and got some food
Then came here. Saw it from freeway. -
Somewhere in Indiana taking a 34.
I'm headed to Indianapolis to pick up a load from the drop yard, then to Salisbury, NC for a Sunday evening delivery.
A Food Lion, so no idea how long it will take for the unload, being a grocery place. Luckily there is reserved parking at the nearby Pilot.
Way too much time on this load, so instead of having several days of very low hours coming in next week I decided to get a 34 in to get back full hours.
This Pilot has a Walmart right next door, which is nice. -
Food Lion will give you the chance to try out the new off duty driving policy. They are one of the grocery DCs that got on my never again list way back when I was a company driver.
FrankMoosetek13 Thanks this. -
I was afraid of that.
Thanks Frank.A21CAV Thanks this. -
Wheeler ridge ca at the Petro. Shipper in Fairfield ca took 4.5 hrs to hand stack load. Didn't want to chanceit it with the Friday traffic.
Make the delivery in the morning in Irwindale ca then run to jv terminal to pick up an already late load that goes to la Mirada. He said to get it there as soon as I can.
Update.
Ran down to castaic and now parked on the street. Was hot at Petro and still had 1.5 hrs left to drive. Got here at dark and much coolerLast edited: Sep 28, 2018

My last load parked in my "backyard" here in Encinal, TX that I will deliver 25 miles away at my Laredo terminal in the morning. My new to me grocery getter on the left. Its been a happy and sad last few days hauling this from North Carolina. I'm excited about starting the new and last chapter in my life even knowing I won't be around for the end of it
Frankjenziedk, Moosetek13, dptrucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
Montello ca at the intermodul yard. Doing my ten. Got here with 5 minutes o 14.
Delivered that load to Irwindale this morning. Hurried over to the jv terminal to get that load. On the way they send a reschedule appt. To 1800.
Ask dispatch now if I can deliver early. Car said I could try but they are appt only. Remember... this load was late for delivery.
So I took some time off to get my front tire fixed on my personal car. Got a bolt in it.
Got back and left and arrived around 1200. Went in and see if I could deliver early Nd she said that I had no appt. Swift only sent an eta. So would be a work In and probably be late that nite.
Said I be out of hours by then and they would have to wait till the morning.
So she took my phone number and said there was 3 trucks ahead of me. Said it be around 1700 b4 she called. Said ok.
At 1630 they called and said come in.
Gave me a door. Backed in then talked to a few drivers there. One swift guy had a 1500 appt. And didn't get a dock yet. Other guy at the dock been there 2 hrs. Great.
Loader were st lunch
About 10 minute I feel them unloading me which caused the other drivers to go inside.
Had me unloaded in about 15 minute
I think loaders made a mistake and unloaded me since there was 2 other trucks in the dock b4 me.
Lucky me.
Got a Pre plan to pickup in commerce and delivers in buckeye as tomorrow.
Had 2 hrs left on 14... so ran over and grabbed the load without being dispatched. Was on hold from the time I left la Mirada till I got my bills in commerce.
Finally got dispatched.. so grabbed the trailer and did all the Macs.
The. Drove here -
Walked down to dennys for dinner and got another load that picks up in filled in as b4 1345 tomorrow and delivers in Rancho Cucamonga on the 1st.
Had set home time for weds and thurs. But think gonna take it tues and weds now -
Btw... as I waiting at the gate to get into yard, another driver pulled up to leave. Opened his door to get out and truck started to honk its horn. Sounded like an alarm going off. Saw hi. Starting to turn all his lights off when heard him set the brakes. He had a 19 cascade.
He was still there when I walked by to get dinner( walked to dennys) so asked him if the truck does that when your forget to set brakes.? He said yes.
I should try that and see if my 17 kenworth does it. Lol
Hope he doesn't get in that habit or he will find himself with a runaway truck
