Van horn tx at the loves.
Ended up doing a 35 reset at Phoenix terminal. Shop has the truck half the day. Seems to be fixed. Had no issues yesterday or today.
Stopped at el Paso terminal for fuel and 30 minute break.
20 miles short of my daily goal but still put in 560 miles. Ft Stockton was the next available truckstops but would have been about 6 minutes over. Will have to make it up tomorrow hopefully.
Trying to get to my final, Pembroke pines fl by Monday. Figured I could do 580 miles a day.

    Phoenix, AZ at the J.

I was repositioned here from Milan, NM. I was given a pplan that I liked, going back to Denver.
When I got to the shipper they were closed for the holiday weekend, from Wednesday until Saturday and they are always closed on Sunday. A DM sent a message to CSR, but I haven't heard anything back yet.

Nothing was open here except reserved parking, so I snagged one.
At least I'll be assured a parking space if they want me to pick up a different load this evening.

Was doing good. Headed for flying j or t/a in Baytown tx. Would have been about 635 miles.
But hit some heavy traffic couple miles east of here not sure if it was the construction or holiday traffic.
Had about 55 mile to go with 1hr20min on my 11.
So didnt want to chance it. Drove to the flying j and they were packed except for a few reserved parking. An Exxon across the street had some parking so came here.
Back parking lot is a rough one. Lot is all broken up from Heavy trucks
Walked over and got dinner and will walk back for a shower as soon as I eat my dinner.
Got in 586 miles. Will have to do 605 miles a day to get it there Monday.

Still nothing from anyone this morning when I woke up. I spent a half hour on hold trying to get a DM at IGH, then it rang once and disconnected me. I called back and got right through.
I got a different DM at first, but I guess my DM heard the truck number and took over.
After explaining what was happening she said she would work on it. About half hour later I got a pplan picking up at Swift going to IN. Nearly 1800 miles, so a very nice load indeed.
    Thanks, Jackie!

It was scheduled to deliver yesterday, so she said just get it there when I could. That should be early afternoon on Tuesday. I should be south of all the bad weather, except for some heavy winds in areas.

When I picked it up the guy at the t-call window said there were quite a few loads that were already late. I guess too many drivers took the holiday off.

    dptrucker Thanks this.

At some rest area off i75 in fl doing my 30 minute break. Rain came down I buckets so stopped here to let it pass.
Stopped in mossy head fl at the loves last night.
Not much traffic going east on i10 which surprised me. Going west was a nightmare for others.
Heavy rain thru Louisiana and scattered rain after that. Once I got into Mississippi emergency broadcast over radio said tornado could be possible in New Orleans and surrounding areas. Better with rain then dealing with all that snow crap up north.

So will deliver it in the morning. Already 're t a Mac 22 yesterday morning saying that just in case I didn't make it today.
The 27 had alot of red lights and seemed to hit them red most of the time. Not a good way to go when you are in a hurry lol.
Weather got better when I left that rest area. Had a little bit of rain. About 85 here when I got here.
Thunderheads are still around so might get some more.
Be safe to all in that snow crap

At the Love's in Mossy Head, FL. On my way to Orlando with a team load that was supposed to deliver yesterday. I picked it up in Phoenix Sunday morning after they cancelled my first post home time load. Had the infamous "get it there ASAP, no service failure" note attached to it. This will be just under 2100 miles for my week, not too bad for 4 days work.

Phoenix had a lot of those late loads.

Just north of Louisville, KY at a Pilot, picking up tomorrow at noon and heading to IL.
Snow flurries all day today, which is rather nice. No worries with just flurries.

I just finished watching the first season of Star Trek Discovery.

Pretty good iteration of the Star Trek universe.
I like the story line and how it is told, but it is supposed to be set 10 years before the original Star Trek series.

I find that hard to believe, considering all the clearly more advanced technology involved.
It should have been promoted as being 10 years earlier than the newly rebooted film series, as it would have been more believable that way.
The ship designs, lighting and view screens, weapons fire, even warp speed are more closely aligned with the newer version.
So it is rather ironic that in one of the bonus tracks they say that they were trying to stay with the original as much as possible. The series Enterprise did a much better job in that respect, in so many ways.

Still, as a stand alone Star Trek series I enjoyed it. It broke new ground in many ways and I look forward to season 2.
