Van Horn, TX @ the J. I have an hour left on my 8 (taking a split since I stopped for 2 hours in Midland). I will have to take another 2 hour break to make it all work but it's better than sitting here for a full 10 and having to take a 30 minute break as well.
I hate this new (to me) absolutely cannot deliver early crap at the big DCs. I'm not buying for a minute that they "fine" Swift if we deliver early.

Steve, check with your dm on the can not deliver early loads. They started that a few months before I got out of the truck. Its like pus one loads; most dc drops are window deliveries.

It's been going on for awhile. It's just not Swift. I'll see it on the rate cons from brokers with firm delivery window/appointment times and a fee schedule if you try to deliver early … the DCs are using trucking companies as rolling warehouses.
Also, try calling the CSR. Sometimes they can reschedule a load for early delivery, especially if it is a drop. -
Why not simply use mac 9 to refuse the load because the delivery time is too far out?
If enough drivers refuse loads that have a certain pick up time with way too much time until delivery, maybe things would get scheduled more properly.
Using our trucks and our time as a rolling warehouse can not be allowed a foothold. Next thing you know, we will need to t-call every load from these places and just clutter up our terminals - much like Walmart has been doing for years with their blitz loads. What happens when more places start this strategy? -
When I worked at Schneider and worked the office for the Walmart blitz, Walmart did pay rental on the trailers.Moosetek13 Thanks this.

Home in Burnsville.
And already dispatched on my next load.
My DM found me a load before I left the terminal. A Post load going to Salt Lake City, so a nice chunk of miles to round out the week.
That'll make it easier. Since my mt trailer is under dispatch no one should be able to take it from the terminal. -
Because in the case of the first load (Atlanta to Farmer's Branch, TX) I had been told that there was no freight out of ATL going west AND I needed to do a reset. What I didn't like even more was waiting over 24 hours after I dropped in Farmer's Branch to pick up my next load home. I only had to delay that load 2 1/2 hours in order to drop within the "window".Moosetek13 Thanks this.

Had a bit of snow flurries yestetgoing going thru pa. And some nasty weather today going around st Louis mo. Snow rain and fog mix. Not fun. But made it thru unscathed lol.
Have about 1453 miles to go to deliver o Sunday. But only have 11hr 54 min on 70 and get back 11hr p2 min on Sunday. In my figuring I be 150 miles short.
Told dm this morning I don't think I had the hours to make it sunday.. But he said it's going to be close but he thinks I w/o make it lol
I have to fuel tomorrow in hooker ok.
So might have 45 min to drive on Saturday. But think I just take day off. -
At home, truck is back at Inland Kenworth. Was surprised to see my Thursday drop show up on this weeks settlement.
My new truck turned over 11,000 miles last night. Managed 8.0 mpg from Dallas to Phoenix with 45K in the box.blsqueak Thanks this.
