19 miles from home, but I won't be getting there. Too much trouble for the little time I would have there.

I did have a nice day however, even with the wind. I slept in a bit for the last 350 miles of this load, and got a decent pplan for tomorrow just before I t-called here.
I shut down with 1 hour left on my 70, and this next load won't quite use what I have coming in. So I'll be building up a few hours in the next couple days, which is good.
And I get another 550 miles to round out the week.

I'm really glad that I am not down there in tornado country. Nasty, it is.

Last night in Sin City then off to Lewiston, ID with a 12k load from our favorite paper company.

 

Westley, CA. Up to a whopping 6.5mpg now. This morning woke up and saw a pplan waiting. Looked at destination and saw 980 mt miles and 160 ldd miles. Then a saw planners comments. Wanted me to go 50 miles back north and repower a load and deliver 3 stops further north up in Oregon. Saw that it was removed. Then saw that I had a voice mail. It was the planner from PHX. Asked me to please commit and he will take care of me, stack me up and keep me running. Like I have not been told that before. He was asking me to give up a 980 miles run for 2 days and take a 160 mile run, and then still have to run more of Oregon. Told my DM and he almost fell out of his chair. Perfect example that either he did not bother to look and see L/O or just hoping that I was hanging this big sign around my neck "STUPID". There are times that I really just can not believe what they sent. Oh, the phone call, 2300 last night. Wish that I had the phone on, answered it, and then said, thanks but no thanks, and then tell him, guess that I get to start my 10 hour break again since you just interuppted me.

Now I am going crazy here. Nice winde so had windows down and now can not count the number of flys that are in here. One of my biggest pet peeves, flies in the truck, especially when driving.

 

Pilot in Las Vegas, NV. Got to my final for a d&h and found out it's a live unload tomorrow. Stopped in Winslow, AZ on the way and went up to Meteor Crater.

 

Threaded the needle ... Went through the front on US 72 about the same time the tornado hit Tupelo ... then apparently the section I went through spawned a tornado at Decatur, AL.

Memphis, tonight ... MO tomorrow.

Steve shot through the storm too today going from KY to MO I think he stopped tonight in Kansas City. Any of you use a Tornado app to help warn you of an approaching storm? The weather app we use only does alerts to places you have listed not where you are by your GPS, I was looking into it because severe weather in any form affects you guys on the road.

 

Look under "Experienced Truckers Advice" for the thread "it started yesterday" regarding the start of tornado season. I posted about a few must have weather apps.

 

FINALLY made it to our stop in ATL!! We got held up in Mayflower, AR... Tupelo, MS... Birmingham, AL... Yep all the places the tornados touched down!! Now sitting at the dock, watching the light show in Atlanta, GA... What will we run into on our way to Denver??
