At home near Phoenix, load delivers in Mesa Monday 0700.
So I arrive @ the paper plant in Prewitt, NM yesterday to do my live unload and pickup a preloaded trailer. Problem was my preload was scheduled for today and even though I had a trailer # (which told me it was ready) the guard was insistant that it WASN'T ready because of the 0210 (todays date) PU #. He tried to send me away with my inbound load saying I could do a drop-n-hook today. I told him I had to deliver Saturday or Swift would consider the load late. After my live unload I stopped by the shipping side, found my outbound trailer and sure enough it was loaded. I had zero issues getting the paperwork from shipping (had been ready since the 7th) so I did my d-n-h and left.

Wichita Falls, TX at the Love's.
I deliver in Houston tomorrow by 1430.
My home time is set for tomorrow but I took this load anyway. A nice 1800 mile load with around 1300 miles to get me home, and since I'll be late for home time there should be no issues getting me at least closer.
Incredible finish to the NASCAR Clash race today, in case you missed it.
Jimmy Johnson was second to Paul Menard and made a move.
Either JJ got sucked back up into Menard or Menard got sucked down a bit, looked like a bit of both, but JJ got into the back end of Menard. The crash that ensued was awesome.
Only 5 of the 20 cars didn't wreck.
Then it started to pour down rain and the race was called.
Jimmy won.dptrucker Thanks this. -
It turns out it is a good thing that I didn't try to get home tomorrow.
Huge snow storm in MN that lasted from last night through this evening. Not really sure the roads will be clear by tomorrow, and then another storm coming in Tuesday.
I probably won't get there before Friday, after all the storms and the roads are again clear.
But there was a 40 vehicle pile up on I-94 today, as well as a 17 vehicle pile up on I-694 this afternoon.
I know at least 1 Swift truck was caught in the I-694 crash, because my sister just told me about it.
She was out there going 50 in a 70 (not the crash site, just going to or from work), being very careful and staying with the flow of traffic. And her car is really good in the snow.
A truck passes her going around 60. The moron. Our tires have nowhere near the traction of all-season car tires, but these idiot truckers just have to make those miles!JOHNQPUBLIC Thanks this. -
Jurupa terminal.
Did 2 local runs today.
2nd one had to wait 3 hrs for the clamp forklift they rented got there. Theirs broke.
I have a running light in the right headlight assembly that keeps going out.
Have shop look at it. Then 2 days off for some unsuspecting problem.
Coffee is being charged here now. 1.25 for a 8 oz cup.
Complained to my dm and terminal manager. Tm said he gonna see about changing it. Always been free here -
From what I remember Edwardsville no longer gives us coffee either.
Ever since Knight, things are getting really tightwad.
They 'say' how important we are, but then they take away the simple things like coffee?
Was Swift really going broke because they were kind enough to provide some coffee? -
I'll take free laundry over free crappy coffee any day!

I have a live unload about 45 miles west of here tomorrow morning, and then on my way to some home time.
I was hoping for a quick and easy load to get me up near Burnsville, but that didn't happen.
My FM sent a message a couple hours ago saying that when I am empty to head for home (It is about 100 miles away) and to drop my mt at Post in Northfield on the way.
That made life nice. I should be home by noon.JOHNQPUBLIC Thanks this. -
Jerome, ID (Twin Falls) @ the J...again, headed for Kent, WA with yet another light weight paper load. Encountered 2 different bands of NASTY winter weather on US 93 between Ely and Wells this afternoon. Thought of stopping in Wells (for about 2 seconds) but decided whatever I ran into north of Wells had to be better than Wells itself.

Radar shows very little bad weather right now. -
Castaic ca.
Picked up a load in Torrance ca and took it to wheeler ridge ca. Then picked up in shafter ca that delivered in woodland ca this morning. Stopped at lathrop terminal for my 10 last nite with 3 minutes left on clock.
Then picked up in 2 spots in lathrop that delivers in Irwindale ca tomorrow morning.
Then dm ask me to help with a local run that's picks up at jurupa terminal and goes to Gardena ca. Paying me 75 dollars extra to do it. Would be done it anyways.
Dealt with alot of rain and strong winds last couple of days. But beats being in the snow crud.
Pilot had no reserve parking left. So grabbed dinner and came down the street and parked o the curb for the night.
