I just read that a truck blew over on I-15 and it was haz mat. The reason the I-8 was closed, other than the wind, truck was turned over right here by the Golden Acorn Casino. And over there in Rancho Gugumonga, trying to fight a fire with the 80mph winds

The winds by the Cajon pass today blew over at least 4 trucks that I am aware off. I had to go up the pass at around 1 pm bobtailing and man I was getting tossed but to my surprise no trucks were parked or blown over. But when I passed like at 5 pm it was completely calm. Just like the tejon pass I guess it was blowing there too. One more day of winds. I heard somewhere on i70 12 trucks blew over in like 5 miles stretch .

When the winds are high from the west and you are heading eastbound from San Diego on I-8 take PARTICULAR care when you are coming down the east side of the pass. When the road is dropping down those switchbacks, when you are headed north on that slope, there is a slot canyon about 100' wide that is a WIND TUNNEL. You can think you are safe from the wind and then all of a sudden WHAM!... you'll find yourself looking out over the cliff in a hurry. This is a few miles before you get to the wind turbines at the bottom. In fact, next time I run through there with any kind of wind I'll be sure to get into the passing lane before reaching that slot canyon or straddle the lanes with my 4-ways on.

Lordsburg, NM. Left out this morning while the wind was only about 16. If would have waited another hour forecast was showing back up to 35. Looking at my load and drop again and was not sure, so called in, terminal mgr answers, he takes a look at sees that it is a drop appt for Monday, not a 24 hour, and no fr8 out of Memphis back to El Paso, so I can still get miles, t-call in Lancaster, my favorite terminal(YEAH RIGHT), then back to El Paso. Then the planners send a pplan, pu in Corsicana and take 375 miles to Eagle Pass for Sunday morning, 0500, drop. Get there and sit 15 hours. Yeah right, and where or where is there going to be a load on Sunday going to El Paso. Sometimes I really wonder what they are thinking. They removed it b4 I had a chance to.

At the Flying J in Rawlins, WY. planner in Salt Lake City hooked me up with a 1647 mile run to Portland, TN. I wonder if Lady K passed me heading west on I-80 today.

That's a nice run ... this time of the year the wind should be at your back all the way.

Called in to Rapid Response today to check on getting on the load board waiting list, was told it's still closed to new people with no ETA for adding more.

LOL... I don't think so... Yesterday we left Denver and took 70... Didn't want to play with the wind on 80... So this morning we were passing Salt Lake City and then we hit 80 heading to CA

Right now I'm sitting on the couch, watching recorded shows and sipping an adult beverage

Yesterday morning got a call from the site manager asking if I could pick up an add on load for a Los Angeles store, I said sure and then he told me he wanted me to come in today to interview for that ect job I applied for a couple weeks ago with the fleet, that load turned into picking up a Yussen in Long Beach and then I took a load to Van Nuys, ended up shutting down a little past 5am so was a long night with little sleep. My first load to Fresno doesnt cut today until 1800 so got time for a nice slumber and will go in around 1700 for the interview. Second load goes to West falls I think the city is called in the LA region.
