Delivered that tire load to Mojave ca this morning.
Pretty small place. First guy wanted me to.drop loaded trailer outside gate and move the empty trailer. Then.put loaded trailer in same place.told him it be better if I backed loaded trailer towards the back of lot and then move empty. He said ok.
Not much room to play with due to other trailers and box trucks parked on the side. Piles of tires on one side too.
By the time I got loaded trailer in place manager had shown up.
He said it took other drivers an hour to park the trailer. He was Iimpressed i guess since he gave me a 20 dollar tip
Got this load on king up at skechers in Rancho belago ca.(near perris ca) and tcall it in jurupa valley terminal.
Dm said they'll give me a local run tomorrow then have the next 2 days off.

 

dptrucker, you must be the only person I've ever seen that prefers to run in California. I commend you for it. Don't think I could run like you do down there.

Born in Virginia and stayed till I was about 3.
Run here in calif. Most of winter so I could avoid the white crap lol.
I will.mostly stay in western 11.

When I started in 2010 we got the whole window, then Plus1 came in and the window was always cut down to a bare minimum. It was an effort to make drivers run harder to get that 1 more load each week.

Perhaps the DM's complained too much about us drivers wasting their valuable time calling them for the true times the load actually gave us.
I think that was the main reason for adding the 'C' option to the pplans. We could test our times against what the customer actually required.

Picked this load up in San Bernardino ca and it's going to Romeoville il.
But I am tcalling it at the Albuquerque terminal tomorrow morning.
Them pick up in prewitt nm anytime tomorrow and goes to Buena park .ca for a 5/21 1630 appt.
Winds are suppose to really kick up tomorrow. 96 miles being empty to prewitt nm.

 

Sounds like you have plenty of time with that load. If the winds are high you should shut down.
You could pick it a day late and still be on time for delivery. That paper load can wait if need be.
Heck if it is a live load and you need to shut down for the wind - they will probably turn it into a preloaded. We always have empty trailers there.

 

Preplan says it's a live load but has a 0600 to 2359 pickup window.
