Ontario, OR at the hotel next to the Pilot. Deliver in Caldwell, ID tomorrow morning then pick up in Vale, OR headed for Irwindale, CA. The drive up here from Redding, CA was interesting to say the least.

    What made it interesting?
    What route did you take?

Ca299 to US 395 then OR 20. Very remote and lightly traveled.

Considering the two truck stops, I would have stayed at the Petro and woken up 15 minutes earlier.

I didn't have much choice where I stayed tonight, which is a little truck stop in Tonopah, NV. I'm headed up to Hermiston, OR to the Walmart DC.

My fuel route didn't have me going the way I wanted so I am out of route now. I wanted to swing by Area 51 on US 95 to pick up some t-shirts for my daughters.
I think my out of route miles percentage is fairly high, since I do that kind of thing fairly often. No one mentions it though.

    Lewiston terminal.
After making the delivery this morning in Spokane wa., I drove back to flying j to wait for a load.
Finally got one with 3 hrs left on 14 lol.
Had me drop my empty at the Clearwater paper mill down the street.
Cane here to get my Idaho permit. Called permit dept. Before I left spokane and got a message on qc saying it was sent here.
Got to the window and hasn't arrived. Not permit dept is closed all weekend.

I have never been asked to show the Idaho permit, and I think it is really only required if you are off the truck routes.

I'll be picking up a load in Lewiston on Sunday.
This morning my DM set me up on it, and the FM in Lewiston removed me from the committed load almost immediately.
My DM called him and was told that he was trying to keep his drivers running miles. My DM told him he was doing the same thing and he wanted me out of the west, so give it back. I got the same thing back, except it picks up on Sunday instead of Saturday. Fine with me, and it gets me out to IL.

I like my DM. He takes care of me.

You need the permit to run US 95 south of Lewiston but, like you, I ws never asked for it.
