Macro 22 is your friend. If you even think you're going to be late send a Macro 22. It will CYA in situations like this. Almost any reasonable explanation is accepted. Just don't say you're sick if you're not. A case of the F*#$-its does not qualify. But a slow shipper does.

You still want to MAC 22 and get the CSR to resched you in the system. Even if the receiver is cool with it, if you do your arrival call after the scheduled delivery time, the system can still put a SF on you.
