it is based off when your appointment time is. If you get to a shipper at 12, but your appt time is 2p, your detention time starts 2 hrs after your APPT time. not from when you get there. If you get thereat 12 for a 2...and you wait till 5 to get loaded, you're going to get an hour of detention. for company drivers it is $15/hr paid by the quarter hr. for O/Os its $30 (mesa thinks)....but you have to document your in and out times on the BOL (i always like to include the time on the BOL you sign for the shipper)...and its always a good idea to respond with the "reply" key when you get those "you've been there 2 hrs..whats the hold up" messages over your QC...

 

Lafayette, LA after the rear inside tire on this trailer blew to pieces on me today. Sat half the day on the shoulder of I-10.

after a day of playing with chains on I-70 i am at the denver terminal. deliver in the morning then wait and see where i go next.
