580 miles of hills and mountains, today right up to my 11. Saw a lot of steaming brakes today. Made it to Columbus running from mt. Airy to Ringgold, VA, then back down again by winston-salem and up I-77 then US-33W.

    #### though, you slow down for those tolls in WV and some of those other guys have their brakes red-hot.

lol...ok....what is really screwed up is I see the weight station sign..and my prepass makes a wierd beep...light goes solid green but beeps five times then starts to flash green...not the normal routine but seems ok....got a mile to consider if it is actually cool...or as some might say ..."when in doubt...go in". Got time to see 6 trucks on the back side....err...I don't want to go in.....gotta decide real quick now....err...I wanna just keep going....err...I don't want to blow by it because the prepass had a glitch....I am riding the brake pedal....starting to move to the right....####...I just down shifted...over some more...more brake....down another gear........over some more.....more brake......another gear ........I'm goin in

Interesting, when I get the green I'm going by and don't even think twice. You still didn't say what happened though, they inspected you or you just drove into one on accident?

I guess my thinking was that nothing good is gonna come from going thru a scale house...under any circumstances...so why go in unneccesarily. Seeing officers checking out the 6 that were in there made me believe they were taking things serious and might actually run me down if I wasn't cleared by the prepass...it really did a wierd beeping flashing. As soon as I entered the green arrow routed me over the scale side...not the by-pass side. I gulped and wondered why I didn't just stay out on the highway. lol...I wasn't laughing at this point though...as I rolled by the building ...the arrrow to go right came on...dang...as I turned in behind the building there were 2 trucks in front of me...one in the left lane and one ine the right...both with officers underneath or bend over looking at the trailers. I wasn't sure where I was to go ...so I pulled up where I still had room to go either way...to the left lane or the right.

We had drivers waiting on trucks so they didn't want to hold up a new driver or a transfer from the van side while I worked my notice out. I'm fine with it- I am already working in my new position... just don't ostracize me for being in Safety :biggrin_255: i'm back on the other side of the steering wheel now.

Anyway...Ft Smith, AR. Where I'll be camped out for a few weeks most likely.
