Girard, OH. Four drop and hooks today. That really chewed up my hours as far as the 14 goes. Not so much the time to do this, but the time to get to check in, then the slot, then find the mt. Did my one drop in Mehoopony, and had to put the mt they gave me out of service. The handle for sliding the pins was all bent up. I was not going to waste my time this time dragging it to get it fixed, especially since the pins where not competely locked in, and the bar would not slide out or push in.
Now loaded with 12k heading to Tomah, WI. Glad that I looked at my del time again. I thought that I was going to really have to push tomorrow since the pplan said 02/04 @ 1915. The load info, 0500 on the 5th. That makes it so much nicer now, with 650 miles still to go. I am still going to try and get it there tomorrow evening, but it will be a push getting thru the Windy.
Good night from...

Caldwell ID, Drove an extra 135 miles due to bad planning... If I'd had the preplan 8 or 9 hours sooner... Sometimes I really wonder if the left knows what the right is doing.

I had to fuel 50 gallons at at a time on a 950 mile run. Like you said. I'd rather be turning miles and fueling more often rather then being over gross and asking what I should do. The only time I fill up is when I have a very light loads going over 800 miles.Criss_crssd said: ↑You don't have to fill it up all even when the fuel route says to do so. Filling up limits the free showers trick. I bought the fuel stop book and figured much like an owner operator how much fuel I needed to get around and never too far from a Swift approved fuel stop then when or if I was say 1/8 I would send a message, "I'm critical low on fuel" and they would open me up to a nearby fuel stop which I had already staged myself by. They would invariably say, 'fillup' but most of the time I never put more than 75 gallons or what I figured I could burn in a day and a half or so. I always tried to empty out with no more than 3/8ths tanks so I could get those heavy loads and be turning miles instead of sending messages that "I'm 80,500 what do I do?"
That's good advice, thanks
