Still running as a sub on the shuttle, so I am in Lancaster every day for my 10. Normally get back here between 0130 and 0400 depending when the truck I meet leaves Memphis. Been on this since the first of the year, six days a week, so I have become intimate with every pothole east of Dallas on I-30 to just east of Texarkana.

Taking Fred back to Atlanta today. According to Dale, the FM he talked to, they will have a truck for him today, and I'm assuming he'll find out who his new DM is today.

My HD load got cancelled and replaced with a 2 stop from Centralia, WA to Missoula then Great Falls, MT. Got as far as Spokane last night in injun country before my 14 ran out. I have 15:23 left on my 70 and have to do a split sleeper. Run on into Missoula, 8 in the sleeper (doing laundry), deliver at 3am, 2 more in the sleeper then run 170 miles to deliver final in Great Falls at 930am.

Found out last night this is a "hyper focus" load. I have been appointed a liason person in Phoenix who is tracking my truck. She told me I should run to Missoula, shut down for 10 and go on to Great Falls. The stops are 6.5 hours apart. So helpful! I told her Einstein proved mathematically it was possible but no one has been able to actually compress time. She said a hyper focus load is analysed in detail by various management types and VPs. Oh, the pressure...

Make sure you have enough hours to get to one of the truck stops in Baytown. The Houston "terminal" is the worst of the worst; it should be closed.

I'm at home in Birmingham. Fred is sitting in his new-to-him truck at the Atlanta terminal. He had 2 trucks to choose from. One truck was a 2008 white Volvo with just over 300K on it or a 2009 PURPLE ProStar. with around 400K. It made me sick when he picked the Volvo. That purple one was the most beautiful truck I've ever seen, but it needed to have the new QC installed and wouldn't be ready until tomorrow.

When I just traded in my ProStar in Phoenix I had no choice in trucks.
All that was available were a bunch of 2013 Volvo's with around 2k miles.

So here I sit tonight, just inside NM on the way to IN, in my brand new Volvo.

    scottied67 and Wilma Thank this.
