Good morning, everyone. Fred is sitting in Buffalo, NY waiting for a load. His last PP had him scheduled to deliver at 4:00 AM, but when he got there at 4, they were closed and didn't open until 6:00 AM. His DM is telling him that this doesn't qualify for detention pay. I'd like to understand why it doesn't. They told him to be there at 4, they didn't open until 6, he was detained. I know it's not the customer's fault, but it is Swift's, and he still deserves to get paid.

In our opinion he does deserve it.
But in Swift's opinion, Plus one just got him there to deliver on time.

 

Well, Plus 1 caused him to not have the time to pick up 2 loads that were offered to him later in the day because he was 2 hours short on his 14 hour clock. Grrrrrrrr.

 

Plus-1 tries to book by the minute - with no regard for more than a very strict 10 hour break, or scaling, pre-trips, fueling, or any other kind of breaks or delays.

 

truck finally out of KW, Planned on a Target load to El Piso, drop and hook again, then will see. have to bring the truck into KW again, they screwed up, DPF code that they said was not active when they looked at it, and as soon as I pulled out, it came up. Was just looking at the time, and FR8 is now in PI, seeing his new lady. Hope that he had a safe flight and that he is okay.

 

Junction City, NE at a Sapp's Brothers with my delivery a few miles away in Manhattan at 8am. This place is the pits and the only truck stop I've ever been in that was out of coffee. The young lady at the counter was profoundly disinterested when I pointed it out to her.

Bought a new laptop today which is really strange to type on after using the phone the last few months. Everything is so big!
