Dropped a load tonight, then picked up a load tonight.
    Deliver tomorrow evening in Houston.
Then I pick up a load tomorrow night in Houston bound for Aurora, CO on the 19th.
    Sweet.

My home time request was for the 19th in Denver.

It's been months since I've had to remind planners to route me home.

There seems to be a lot of REAL LIFE EXPERIENCE lease info in here FOR SWIFT.... my take, it becomes a personal choice because, after all the risk, the reward is MOSTLY intangibles: HT, refusing loads, newer truck, etc... but after expenses the extra $$ is something that can evaporate with a couple of months of low miles or a mishap ... so, you are going to hear his opinion or his AGENDA...

Best thing in a business decision, is to examine your motives and if what you want IS the intangibles... find a way to make that work... maybe train once in a while, move terminals, ????, switch companies once your year is done -- but your DM is not your friend and SWIFT is not your family and that DOES NOT make them BAD PEOPLE - they SELL leases ENTHUSIASTICALLY because it is GOOD FOR SWIFT if it was GOOD for YOU they would make LEASES ILLEGAL not tomorrow but TODAY.

Stanton, TN with this High value load. this load is so special that load locks were required. Straps, nope, had to be load locks. the receiver, truck shows up with straps, it will be refused and sent back. Mac 30, 3 loads, and everyone under 380 miles and for Saturday del, Kansas City and LaGrange, GA. Not getting anywhere near a terminal for Saturday morning. Either getting these short offers do to HOS, or hometime request for Monday.

I appreciate your comments but I believe, in my never humble opinion, you are mostly wrong. I have owned successful businesses so I know the business aspects of leasing a truck from Swift. I researched their L/O program before I applied and have been running a lease simulation since the day I soloed. I have no intention of being a mentor, changing my dm, changing my terminal or going to work for another company. I like working for Swift and with a few expected exceptions I like the people I work with.

My dm has been with the company over 10 years and most of his group are lease drivers. He has an opinion but I doubt he has an agenda. What profit would there be for him? The discussion we had, including the questions I asked, was framed in a manner that left him no position to be a company cheerleader. I gained some important information and he gave me his personal input which closely matched information I had received from several lease drivers. All in all, a very good day.

Salado, TX at the little Valero ts with the Mexican restaurant. Food was good tonight.

Had a nice long talk with my dm today. Its looking like I will be leasing a new truck but there are still some things I need to nail down including talking to several of you. I decided last week not to buy my company truck after the batteries were replaced to the tune of $875. It would just be too risky an investment. Found out the buyout program ended anyway.

Ac still not fixed. There were 22 trucks ahead of me and several were trucks that had been worked on whose drivers returned to the line. Got a load out of the terminal, tcalled from Mexico, going to Norfolk, NE. Going to try to make Salina, KS for some Huddle House steak tomorrow night.
