Ellensburg, WA on hometime until 5am Monday. Going fly fishing tomorrow all day. I'm at the Flying J, I-80, exit 109 if anyone is coming through. Stop in and visit if you have time.

Talked to Lucy Herrera today about leasing. They are not ordering any new Prostars. Bummer. She knew nothing about the 2013s with APUs but said Swift does that kind of testing a few years in advance of a decision. She sent me a list of used Prostars that have a year to a bit more than two left on their lease. Some are relatively low mileage so I'm considering it. My other choice would be the KW with the Studio Sleeper but the only reason i'm considering this, that is completely valid, is for the money so I've got some number crunching to do. I'll be sending out a few PMs this weekend so stay tuned...

Not with a spread axle. Most of Swift's skateboards have an 8' 6 1/2" spread which is good for 38,000. A 10' spread is good for 40,000.

At the Pilot in Springdale, AR. Supposed to be halfway to Des Moines, except when I went to the drop yard my load wasn't there and come to find out wouldn't be there for at least 4 more hours. So I got another load that according to my dispatch was a drop-n-hook. Shipper says" This load had an appointment yesterday for a live load, can't help you today."

So now I'm waiting til tomorrow to go back to the customer I dropped off today for a load headed for Atlanta. So much for not going east of I-35. I'd prefer to stay west, but I'd prefer to run more.

    Edwardsville, KS.

Well, Beer Co was closed when I got there at 1500 today.
CSR never followed up when I did my Mac22, so not only can I not deliver today I also had to be taken off tomorrows load.

They sent me here to t-call it.

One of the trucks on the list of used Prostars for lease is in Avenel. Is that in NJ? There isn't an Avenel terminal in the list I was given and the list of terminals and drop yards is no longer in the new and improved Swift Drivers site.

When I did my Mac22 (on the exact same load) they sent me a new delivery time on Monday morning. 10 minutes later my DM sent me to t-call it in Edwardsville. This all happened in western KS.

Really pays to have a good DM. Thanks again Squeak!!

Frank .. that's what I did .. took a used Prostar. 175K on the clock, 27 months. Advantage going with a short lease, if it works out and you want to buy it you can get into it quicker ... and if it's not working you don't have long to wait to get out of it and move into something else.

Also if you go used, get it from a terminal with a reputable shop. Avenel is nothing more than a glorified drop yard. You'll want to spend a couple of days having the shop shake it out and make repairs as needed. Take it somewhere other than Swift to have a DOT done to it, then bring the fix it list back to the Swift shop. Also they should have it detailed for you. And of course ... new mattresses.

Home for a few days .. beer, football and a root canal on Thursday ... do I know how to party or do I know how to party!
