I might be heading into it before I can get ahead of it. Not sure how fast it is tracking. If it is not due in LA area until Tuesday then I can get way ahead of it. If it is due there in the afternoon, then I can be in a real hurt. Looking at the tracking, come Tuesday evening it should still be off the cost, but with some strong winds and rain. I might just be able to get ahead of it. If not, I really do not think that Kroger is in that much of a rush for this toilet paper.
Good night from...

Scottie, I just flat refused those short ones since they where keeping me in the SE, and was not staying there. Took the Houston load because once out that way, I can stay out there until home time. I only caught flak for one that I refused on the 24th. When I put in that I could not make ontime del, about 7 hours late, I did not put in ETA to del on MAC 9. I did not because I knew the cust and they stop rec at 0700 and I was not going to be able to get there until 1000, and with my luck, they would have rescheduled until 0300 the next morning, and was not going to sit on a 500 mile run for 2 days.

Usually have no problem, but... I was sent a pplan, trailer relocate down to Neelys MO from Gary, IN... They sent me a trl solution, and went to pick it up in Moonika, they had no trailers available. So, instead of giving me another location, they took the load off of me and llet me sit for Ten hrs. Which I had been awake for 15 hours at that point, only to get a pplan to PU at 21:00 and deliver 05:00 next morning about 300 miles or so... With no sleep... Just frustration when you sit all day with hrs ticking down only to be sent something you can legally do but not physically.
They finally set me up with a load I could pu early the next morning (I wake with the sun) so wake up buy coffee/ breakfast pretril and start heading out to pu location, only to have it removed 5 miles down the road... And I stopped and headed back to he peelot and wait another 4 hrs for a short 60mile load... I coulda used that time for a 34 but... Oh well -
Sitting at the Flying J on I-64 north of Evansville, IN enroute to Mt. Vernon, IL for a morning unload. Then I'm headed to Jacksonville, IL to pick up a load headed to Indy. Tomorrows load will be my 3rd short "day load" in 3-days, 5 loads total fo the week.
Stopped at The National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY this afternoon as I had a couple hours to kill between loads. Loved the Vettes and the bits of history/trivia behind them. I wish I had realized they had a 911 exhibt there as well. I would probably have avoided it, really put a dark cloud on my day seeing it in person like that. Overall a very nice place. -
I've gotten to the point I will not run this kind of load, unless I know about it well in advance AND I really want to run.
-
If I know far enough in advance to change my sleep patterns it's one thing. Its just annoying to be sent the same load over and over and over again with the same times andajusting them to be a safer well rested driver.
My PTA was set for 06:00 not 18:00 -
Missoula, MT. Picked up light load yesterday in Omak, WA headed for Chicago area. Yesterday was an awesome ride with really incredible scenery and today will be the first time in North Dakota. I'm headed to NJ to look at one of the trucks I might lease.

Just got a fuel re-op and it changed my route from I-94 to I-90 so still no ND. First time I've used the new dispatch route capability on the qc gps and its cool beans.

Well, got as far as Theodore, AL before shut it down. Been listening to the weather channel on Sirius and it has been getting a little wonky. Heard of roads already starting to flood in Gulfport and Biloxi so decided not to attempt getting to Slidell. Since been sitting here, watched the winds change directions a few times, and the rain. A good chance that I will be sitting here about 2 days. Not going to attempt 80mph winds accross LA with 10K in the box. They are again telling people in the low laying areas of Biloxi and gulfport, get out now, or stay put for the next couple of days.
fr8monkey Thanks this. -
What a wimp.
Kidding!
The important thing, and the smartest, was to shut down before you couldn't find a place to shut down.
Even with 45k in the box I would not brave driving in 80+ MPH winds, inches of rain pouring down each hour, and debris flying all over the place.
Good to hear you'll be relatively safe.
