Rock Springs, WY.
And, heading away from the storm.
After turning down two pplans that picked up this afternoon because I couldn't do a live load with only 1.5 hours left on my clock after delivering my load, I was given one that picks up at 0800 tomorrow going to Oakland CA.
I spent my entire childhood through highschool in the Bay Area and I haven't been there in decades. It'll be nice to see some of the old stomping grounds again, even though it is the other side of the bay.
No delivery date/time yet, so I am hoping they don't put a squeeze play on me.
Good night from...

Well, that's when that upper bunk comes in very handy.

Luckily where I am parked, do not have to worry about flooding. Parking in Biloxi or Gulfport, that might have been a issue. Also did not want to attempt those two high bridges on I-10 in MS, not the way that the rain and wind have been blowing. I was really hoping that I could have gotten this delivered on time. Would have ended the week good. There is a chance that the wind might let up some tomorrow in the afternoon and I can boogy

Probably the same road surface that was on the roads back when you were there. lol
Can you say Rough Ride?

Considering how CA runs things, I wouldn't be surprised.
And it's a 44k load, so any bounces will be multiplied many times over.
What fun. -
Inver Grove Heights, MN... Heading west in the morning as soon as load shows up... Planners did me a soild 1690 load straight to Summer terminal, load is going to Canada...

Crawfordsville, IN at the Pilot. I deliver in Indy in the morning. This is my 3rd pickup in the afternoon-deliver next morning load in a row. Afterwards I pick up NE of Indy headed for the Walmart DC in Hammond, IN for a same day drop. That will be 6 loads in one week for me. Not bad considering I lost an entire day because of 2 back to back bad loads. If the miles were a little better I wouldn't mind this at all. Will be interesting to see what's next.

I like Inver Grove Heights.
The people are very nice, the shop is good, and I never have a problem getting in or out.
Loads are not planned out of there, however.
I actually 'live' about 15 miles from that terminal now, but I am still based out of Otay Mesa, CA.
So whenever I go 'home' on home time, that is the shop I put my truck in for any repairs that are needed. -
Good call....and like moose said..better to shut down in a "fer' sure spot" then to hunt and hope in a squall....wish you luck my friend....
