And for company drivers, it pays better east of the Miss.

When i drove for swift, i never carried load locks either. Only needed them once for a michaels load. I told them i didnt have any and they gave me some at the guard shack. Told me allot of guys dont have them and swift brings a bunch out to them every month.

Florence, KY. 120 miles from the terminal and I am short 1 hour from getting there tonight and dropping this load and going on line 5 and home. Oh well, will be home in the morning, then a authentic chinese meal. Not sure what is on the menu, but know that it will be good.

I do the same....(depending on weather conditions) I go for the southeast.....midwest....so atlantic coast region....lower fuel costs...plenty of truck stops...plenty of freight always...i like a nice little loop from...KC south or east...to no florida...to midwest..ohio illinois to operate...

Parked behind a convience store in Malvern, AR. Discovered this place when I delivered just down the road in March. Parking for 15-20 trucks and showers as well. Never a problem with parking.

Price of fuel making no sense at all. Paid $3.979 in IL which is great considering their fuel tax. Paid $3.799 in central TN earlier today. It's $4.099 all throughout AR and from what I can tell about the same in TX.

I understand why some drivers like the midwest and southeast, I'm just not one of them. I do not like how small most of the truck stops are and how early they fill up. I hate how I send 75% of my time on 2-lane when I'm in the south. Enough of my whining.

Mostly the people down south are ruder. Had more negative experance than positive ones down there... One guy at the guard shack shipper gave me what seemed like an essay of directions to get to he shipping/reviving drivers entrance door... All he had to say, between dock 78 and 79.

After thinking about this I realized that the rude Southerners were for the most part transplanted northerners who don't know a thing about Southern Hospitality, IMHO.
