If I knew I was on a run like that - I would run balls out, pedal to the metal and risk my life to get it there.

But how often is that the case?

    I'm in Denver tonight.
Had a great birthday with my little girls, my sister and my ex-wife.
We went to Boondocks - a Fun Park.
Laser Tag, Mini Golf, Race Cars, Bowling, Video games, Food, etc...
For such a little place, it holds so much fun!

And my youngest daughter (Lorelei) gave me a birthday present - a stuffed crayon figure - that I gave to her a couple years ago. :biggrin_2559::biggrin_25526:
I doubt she remembers that I got it for her - but it is the thought that counts. It was something special to her, and she thought of me.

Now... where in my truck can I mount it?

I agree 100% load isn't worth my life at all. Been in a couple of situations mostly when I drove a super b nothing like feeling helpless rolling backwards empty up a mountain with doubles. thankfully nothing ever came of it other than changing my shorts, after close calls like that I rather be yelled at for not moving than yet another person making the news.

Glad you're ok, nicely done. How long did it take you to clean the seat and your shorts? LOL

Reading about the scary slick roads (in the midwest) makes me glad I was out west running through 4 inches of snow on I-70, the plowed road in CO was much slicker.

Arrived at the customer yesterday @ 7:15 am (8:00 appt), they got me unloaded and out of there by 9:00. Then I screwed up and took the 101 through downtown LA enroute to Van Nuys (an hour to go 25 miles). Anheuser Busch went as smooth as can possible be expected and I was out of there in less than 40 minutes (anyone who's picked up beer in Van Nuys knows what I mean). Traffic escaping SoCal ran better than some non-holiday weekends and I pulled into the Phoenix yard @ 7:10 pm. 7.8 MPG @ 78,000 lbs is outstanding in my book.

At home, my youngest woke me up @ 4:00 am, but that's OK. My truck is in my driveway, when it warms later this morning I'll clean out the interior (something I try to do every 4-6 weeks) and pressure wash the exterior. The snow managed to knock one of my fairing skirts off so I'll stop by Freightliner and (hopefully) get another one.

I hope everyone trying to get home manages to do so. Be careful out there, winter has definitely arrived!

Woke up this morning, no pplan, nothing on MAC 30 so I sent a message, "Good morning. After I drop this load and if no load to get me home for the home request for the holiday, I will begin bobtailing". There reply, let us know if you are going to do this. What part of the message did they not understand. Got to the customer, dropped and waited for 30 minutes. Nothing so sent a message of my plans and saying that maybe Memphis would have a load to get me home. Within 2 minutes, I get a message from Lewiston, hold one, msg sent to planner, and one minute later, a pplan, from Lewisville, TX to Indy. Still some dh home, but at least not 1100 miles. Now will at least get home early in the afternoon. A nice 3400lb load, and right now, 9.2mpg. Lucent going to what I think is a broadcasting station. Says can not be early. Wonder what they mean by early, 1 hour, 30 minutes.
