North Platte, NE. Was going to go to Big Springs, but had enough of this wind. NNW gusting to 25mph. According to the weather, will be seeing it the whole way across WY. Going to make mpg suck. Right now, 6.2, and that is with a 17K load and on flat land. Wait until tomorrow when hit the hills. Now time to go back inside the J and spend a little money. Nice clothing sale on Flannel shirts and pants, 50% off.

Something strange today for the first time. PU ldd trailer and have instructions, customers require that we pull the trailer with the tandems all the way back for a smoother ride. They are tired of damaged product. All because our trailers are not air ride. I have on riding lawn mowers.

I was planning on hitting Texarkana tonight, but my load was pushed back a day, so i opted to call it an early day.. 565mi. tight jack-knife backing here tonight, uhhg not fun when yer fried like a bad roach-coach taco. looks likes a mad house here right now, drivers scrambling in for the last few spots. driver next to me just left, so ill be awake a bit longer till it fills up, hate the 'whos backing up next to me feeling'. Got another boob flash today coming into Dallas, car full of college looking girls, and of course the big fat one flashes me, but hey... ill take it lol
whelp time to fade out and see whats new on netflix..

stuck here in phoenix till monday. hopefully get a truck then. dl said he give me pay for the days waiting. wouldn't be so bad if there was something to do here. but nothing close by. i just walked to best buy on 99th ave next to the freeway. had to return a laptop i bought the other day. couldn't get the dvd to play. last time i buy an open item, should've known lol

 

At the J in Amarillo. MTed my GA load this morning in Dallas and after no luck with Mac 30 was sent a preplan headed to Denver, so I took it. No weight or appointment time listed, but since it's a Verizon load I knew it would be light (4850 lbs). Delivery appointment turned out to be Monday (PP hinted at Sunday) which will work out OK. I'll get to Denver tomorrow afternoon and take a 34. There's a Walmart within walking distance (from the Denver term) so what more do I need?

 

DP there is a Harkin's movie theater just across 99th from the Best Buy... and a Peter Piper Pizza if you can handle the screaming kids... The Smashburger on that corner has AMAZING hamburgers... Claim Jumper Native Newyorker, Coldstone, Johnny Rockets, and Red Robin... you are better located there then at the terminal... that said west about 5 miles on south on Dysart more shopping, more food and two hotels that have truck parking....

 

I can vouch for the hotels on Dysart. The Quality Inn. Swift drivers get a nice discount there. Shuttle will pick you up.

I'm sorry ... I did a 34 there last year to do my taxes ... In TN, p/u tomorrow and head up to CT for a Sunday AM drop.

 

Well, I'm currently in CT, just got out of MA and headed to NC.
