Edwardsville, KS.
I've been trying to get home time near Sacramento, CA, but now I'm too late.
We had planned a mini family reunion this weekend - 4 months back.
The closest I can come by Sunday will be Perris, CA - way down south.
These past few months it seems home time - on time- is getting harder and harder to obtain.
My latest pplan - pick up in Wichita KS on 04/19 at 1000, a live load, and deliver in Perris CA 04/21 0830.
Loaded miles 1355, so I have to figure more like 1500.
When I checked the window was until 04/22 at midnight.
And I have 2 tiny little loads tomorrow to fill in the time.
Guess I better get the times adjusted and accept them.
Sigh.
Good night from...

Here now in New boston terminal killing some time. It has been a week. The trainee saw his first snow fall comming into NE the other morning, the kind the mess up the wipers and windows. He just kept going until safe to pull over, clean up the wipers and kept going. We picked up a heavy load that was t-called in SLC, and no weight ticket. I asked about it, and on the t-call sheet, it said that the load was under 35K, and the person at the windor accepted that. Showed it to the day person, looked at the BOL, and right on there, 42K. Bush load. The person that accepted the load, well, written up. Guess that SLC is having quite the turn over right now. I was told that I can scale the load at my expense, refuse it and sit for 2 days. I took it and ran. Now here after a 600 mile load from south of Knoxville, and MAC 30, GM loads to Memphis for Friday afternoon. All of them, 702 miles, 14-15 hour transit. Not touching any of them. They all load 10 hours after I get mt, so I will start my clock for all of 3 hours, then set, student will be on break and then he will get stuck with a all nighter and I will take the end of the load for 200 miles, then be stuck in Memphis on Friday afternoon trying to get a decent team load. I think that my DM is ticked at me and not even looking out for what is going on.

Eating breakfast @ the Columbus terminal.
T-called my load here yesterday afternoon, so far nothing I want to run has appeared on Mac 30 and I turned down a Coke syrup load going to Roanoke, VA.
43,000 lbs and I-77....no thanks. -
Steve, keep turning down loads and you will be in the same boat as me with our DM. HEHE
I am really hoping to hear from Costco soon. -
I don't think Ron (Squeak and I's DM) has it in him to be "ticked" at anyone. He is borderline overworked (50+ drivers) and probably thinks that his "business partners" (that's you and I Mark) are capable of handling most things on our own. If you need help, CALL or MESSAGE him and ask for it. He is most definitely NOT a mind reader.
There, I'm off my soap box.

The 4 lines of "don't do this-don't do that" comments (on the load I turned down) were part of the decision process. Had it been something simple (like the 44K battery load I drug over I-77) I probably would have taken it.

Steve, the other day, sent a msg when broke down again, no reply. Well, just sent a pplan, 2nd short load in a row, heavy going down US 23 and US 35 and I-77 to NC. 43k. Declined telling them, L/O mentor with student, 2nd short load, need to see back up plan with miles for the weekend.

I went to pick up my load yesterday at 2300 and the shipper says they sent Swift an update that it wouldn't be ready until 2300 today. This hasn't happened to me for a long time and I'm wondering what the layover pay is for O/O. While I was there last night the shipper called Swift and told them verbally the load wasn't ready and then by the time I got back to the truck Swift sent a message over the QC that is was rescheduled. 24 hours to wait plus the miles to and from, good grief.

O/O don't get layover....that is what our DM said to us the other day when we sat for 24hrs before we could get our load.
We are sitting in the motel in SLC with the truck at Kenworth. We found more little things that needed fixing (passenger door seal and the bunk windows don't open). The shop was giving us problems about fixing it so I called Rapid Response. They got it OKed to go to Kenworth and we don't pay because we are still under the 30 day warranty period for 3 more days!!!
Is anyone else getting messages about doing the GOAL? and doing it properly? -
Don't sit waiting for a load ... if you get to a shipper and they tell you that it's rescheduled or will be more than 10 hours ... tell a DM you're off the load, send a mac 9 and tell them you've started your clock and to get you another load ASAP. Also you are owed the mileage to the load that you cancelled.
musicgal ... unless you bought a used truck or took over a lease with more than 450,000 mile on it, those items you mentioned should be covered under dealer warranty, you don't need on road's permission to go to the dealer, though do check in with them and get an authorization number.
Dove off the interstate with 3 minutes on my 11, planning to park on a ramp for the night. Stumbled on to an undocumented truck stop with a dirt lot for about 3 trucks ... god looks out for the dumb. Heading for FL to unload tomorrow, then to AL to pick up - what a shock paper - and run it over to AR where I will die ... burned out my 70, 0 hours rolling off on Monday, might have 4 left after I deliver on Sunday.Tapeworm Thanks this.
