good to hear. go over the truck and make sure to put down any and all damage you find on the paperwork you get. do a good pretrip. go to the part sept. and grab a couple load locks, your kingpin and padlock(must get these),and i'd ger the toolkit they have. comes with airhose(connects to airline to fill tires),hammer, flashlightm and couple wrenches.make sure it comes with a spare tire. you most likely be talking to mr. zimmer at mira loma. he is thew one who gives our truck there. his office is across from dispatch. oh, also look at permit book, might have some things expired. hope this helps. good luck p.s. dispatch has swift seals, lumper receipt book, and that load booklet(been so long i forgot whats it called lol) that you fill out with each load (don't make copies of these if you need more).

Yeah I was told to see a Ron Zimmer, I was already planning to inspect the truck thoroughly inside and out, engine, to tail lights and anything in between. I thought someone told me the tool kit you had to take some class to get, this is wrong info? I will definitely ask about it either way, maybe im thinking of a class that allows you to fix stuff on the side of the road? Not sure
I didnt think about the permits and that should of already been in my mind, thanks for the heads up, on the load booklet are you talking about the scan sheets where you enter the load info to scan in at the terminal or truck stop? I should of asked my mentor to go over paperwork stuff more but guess I will ask everything I can tomorrow.

What are the swift seals used for?

Spare glad hand seals, fuse kit - at least 2 of everything and double that for the most common fuse in your truck, extra 5th wheel grease - packets or tubes, whatever they carry there, 2 gallons of oil, 1 gallon of coolant, 3 gallons of washer fluid, spare set of wipers, Comchecks, ensure the Prepass is activated, IFHUT stickers are current and current permit is in the permit book, NYHUT sticker is on the bumper ... When you go through the Albuquerque or Denver terminal pick up some straps.

San Antonio, deliver in Houston tomorrow ... MAC 30 is graciously offering me 45Klb loads to VA.

Also ... doesn't the Swift shop provide fans for company drivers? If so, grab one.

Unloaded in Houston, on my way to Mass tomorrow.

That little course on the Kiosk is called the road ready course. It is nice, You do get a nice tool box that is full of tools, plus another box that is full of bulbs for the trailers, glad hands, wire connectors, things that you can use to get you out of a situation that can save you time insteand of having to take your truck to a shop. Also you will receive a fifty foot long air hose. that will come in handy. As a O/O, I paid $80 for the whole thing. Yes, we get the bulbs for free, but there is a whole lot more in that one little box. Even a pair of wire cutters/strippers/crimpers, and electrical tape. They think of most everything that you might need. It is worth taking the little course. Also part of the course, how to change the headlights in the different trucks that we have.

Now, home sweet home. My DM decided that before my student and I hit the road for 3 weeks in fleet 737 that it would be a good idea to take some time at home. I need the break and my student needs to get his head together. What a DM. Puts in hometime for me without me knowing it. The only way that I found out, a put in a home time request, and received a msg, already have one in. I am not sure what is wrong with my student. There are days that he can shift great, at least for one hour, and then screws up big time. I am just not sure. I have spent many hours myself driving just to show him, and the one mistake that he keeps making, wants to push the clutch almost all the way in when putting it in gear, or hits the pedal to give more rpm. Anyone got a suggestion to help me get him off of that. I have done all that I can. I am not sure if just a memory problem, or that when he knows that he screws up, he beats him self up. I know that at times it can be hard, but after almost 60 hours, shift already. I do not even want to mention his down shifting.
