Its a he but I get your point
Can you answer if I calculated picking up hours correctly? I didnt spend time learning that part of logs when I should of, normally I ran daily so I knew what it said I was picking up and if it wasnt enough I just did a 34 during training. -
you be there 2 hrs before you start getting those messages.should start getting then on the 3rd hour and every hour after that. if you have questions on that pat, call matt and he'll check on it.

wish i could help you on this. i been off the truck since end of march for eye surgery. write down last 7 days total hours( driving and on duty not driving)the 7th day is what you'll get available tomorrow, 6th day will be thurs.,5th day will be friday. also what hours you don't use up today will get added on tomorrow.example. if you had 10 hrs avialable today and have 5 hrs available tomorrow and you use only 5 hrs today, you should get 10 hrs tomorrow. i sure hope i'm explaining it rite lol. learn how to recap..it will definitley help you. find the 8 day tab on the qualcomm, thats what you can see what is available and what i use to recap my hours to see what i have available. hope this helps.

Stanfield OR
Man what a horrible end of a night, this was my fuel stop so I filled up, I still had 1.5 hours left but I was feeling too tired to try and make another stop, I pulled into the overflow parking lot and took a turn not wide enough and my trailer hit a truck causing damage to his fender and bumper, only damage to the trailer was some scrapes.
Now I sit here all stressed and freaked out that I could lose my job over this and questioning what if I went to the rest stop I was originally heading for.
The guy was at least nice about things and tried to calm me down some and said I was doing the right thing pulling in to sleep but I keep questioning my ability now and a lot of what if's.
We called the police and did our reports, exchanged info and we both took tons of pictures, the officer said he wasnt going to cite me since it wasnt wreckless and an accident. I filed my claim and stuff and now just have to wait and see what safety decides to do with me.
I cant sleep now im so stressed and worried
IF Swift doesnt fire me then I guess im stuck with Swift for awhile having an accident on my record for a few years. Only positives I can think of right now is at least nobody was injured and if I kept driving I could of fell asleep and did a lot more... -
That one won't get you fired. It wasn't one of the deadly sins. Calm down, relax, understand what you learned last night about truck driving...and yourself.
fr8monkey Thanks this. -
good lord?...its not the worst thing in the world to be stuck with swift a couple years,lol.....

First this ... Second, humility is your friend right now ... you screwed up, own up to it and Swift will work with you. Unlike some other training companies ... cough - CRE - cough ... Swift isn't going to boot you for a small fender bender. They figured you've learned your lesson and will be better for it ... you're going to get a lecture from Safety and some one-on-one LCQT - Local Close Quarters Training. And I will hazard to guess, you will never, never, never make a turn again without watching your inside mirror or whenever you are in close quarters.
Emptied out in Mass this AM, blind side back off a residential street during morning rush hour ... then to upstate Mass, over 35mph posted small town roads to pick up. ... heading to GA for a Friday drop. Service plaza in CT.fr8monkey, Moosetek13 and inkeper Thank this. -
Yep...and I screwed up plenty my first year....accidents service failures...bad attitude all around....but swift does work with you....they can make you better......clean all around 3 years now...sometimes it just takes time...hang in there wollfy
-
The others are right. Swift won't fire you, or even make you feel that bad about it.
This time.
You'll get LCQT and the accident will stay with you for a year (in Swift's ranking system, that is).
The fender cracker I had 2 weeks into being solo (backing) stressed me out in the same way.
Don't stress over Swift; they will work with you and get you trained a bit better. The LCQT is very helpful, but not really long enough IMO.
Just learn from the experience, as most of us do.
