got a preplan for a costco load that was already 45 minutes late for pick up. delivered in sheridan co tomorrow at 2000. been sitting since 1130 waiting for a load. couldn't send it sooner? i just ignored it. tired of being told to make sure i'm on time due to important custumers and planners can't do there jobs.

finally got some loads, also was told by my DL I wont be allowed to do a reset at home again that it must be at a secure location which is what the terminal manager said he claims.
we do resets in bad areas yet I cant do it close to home where its safer...

Bobtailed to mira loma for a load of cans delivering in Montebello, been docked for about 2 hours now and they are finally unloading, was stacked with another load picking up in Fullerton and delivering MCcarran, NV tomorrow, window is from 6:30am to 22:00 so I will get it there as early as I can then try to get another load asap, need to catch up on miles.

 

After fighting with DM about loads that dont have drop numbers or appt times I take one that goes from Ky to Pa. with no del time set.
Do loaded call with noon eta.
Am immedietly told it it has an 8 am del appt.
Am told that again after I question it.
This morning bright and early get message from DM asking if I'm running " on time " for my 8 am
appt.
Get there on time and ( wait for it ) ... there is NO appt . for my load.
Sat there till 13:30 before I hit the dock.
Just shoot me.

The text message on my phone said 8/16 0800, but pplan and load assignment both say no appt. time.

 

these load board loads? I havent had any loads with no appt times yet.

Sitting next to a Chevron off the 395 in Olancha, CA
First went to the rest area around the corner but saw parking close to the chevron so drove over here instead, now i can wake up and get some coffee before hitting the road which I dont do often mostly stopping at rest areas. Got 320 miles to go

 

O/O and L/O can sign up to get loads brokered outside of the Swift System. Since they have a larger investment in their equipment than company drivers it gives them a chance to roll when it's slow...also gives them a bigger choice of loads.

 

yeah I know all that, I was wondering if these loads without appointment times are from that brokered system

 

posted it in a goal topic but thought might be a good one here, I was at the Mira Loma terminal near the loaded trailer section and im sure some will know the poles im talking about near some of the spaces.

I watched an idiot today, was bobtailing around the terminal trying to find a loaded trailer I was supposed to get that a driver dropped in a different spot than mapped out...besides that frustration here is my goal story for the day

I had to stop and was waiting for a driver to do a blind side parking, why he chose to blind side when there were like 20 easy spots available I dont know, anyway im watching this guy, he has his truck fully jackknifed and the tractor was heading for some poles, I yelled on the cb he was about to back into some poles and either he ignored me or his cb was off, he ended up hitting the poles but lucky was just bumping with the tire. He pulls forward and backs a few times finally changing position some, he then proceeds to go for the spot and im watching his trailer heading towards a parked truck next to the spot he was aiming for, I yelled on the cb again and either he heard me or finally realized his stupidity, he pulled up and the driver of that truck hurried and took off out of there and went to another spot, I then waited while he spent the next few minutes still trying to get into that spot....

Not even one time did this idiot get out and look, I finally just turned around and went the other way, hopefully he got parked without doing damage but I didnt stick around to find out.
