start of day 3 here in billing mt. after replacing the a/c hose that blew, they found metal shaving in some valve in the bunk system. the service guy called shawn from onroad to get ok to replace (recommended) or flush out( no guarentee that it will work) and left message.shawn hasn't called back yet and if the ok to replace the valve, i'm sitting again for another day. they have to order the part and they get it from portland and arrives at 1030 the next day. an easy hose replacement turning into a nightmare lol

 

It's the trucker rookie diet ... no money, no food.

Wolfy ... next time you get a load, there's a Swift CTO in the Target DC ... go in and give the guys there a chat. Or if your DM can get their T/N. They will probably be doing surge for the holidays, may be a way to get your foot in the door.

And if Swift can't get you on, JB Hunt also runs day cabs out of there.

 

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but when the high pressure hose blows off the problem is a compressor failure which loads the system with metal shavings. Although that is a PB dealer I'm surprised they don't know that.

lol its not really the "rookie diet" I just get a lot more activity in when I can. I still spend probably $50-$100 on food a week depending whats going on but the biggest factor is not to be a lazy trucker, I dont go for the closest spots, closest pumps etc. I park in the back and I walk, I also do some exercise when I can in my truck as well.

Last night my wife said I was looking thinner especially in the face, she said she needs to keep my home for a couple weeks and fatten me back up lol
She doesnt want me getting skinny

I think it's the plus 1 auto dispatch ... I've been getting a lot of that lately - dispatch before my PTA ... heck I've even had the system bump my PTA to before my ETA when I've been under load.

I try to look at it this way, the system has so much freight, that it is puking it out to anywhere it can, to get it going. And too much freight for the number of drivers is good thing for us ... Even in Denver I was getting PPs 24 hours before my ETA.

 

sitting at the Phoenix Terminal, I deliver 24 miles away in Tempe so stopped here to get my laundry and stuff done, also just ordered a pizza since I have been craving it for days.

The LTE speeds are nice here in phoenix, I connected at 43mb/s so im downloading movies tonight and stocking up

 

I talked to a guy that was a planner and is now a dispatcher in swift. He said they will put plans on trucks supposedly closest to the area with a pta set close to pickup and they hope someone grabs it. Lol they really plan dont they

I just got a preplan wanting me to bobtail all the way to Otay mesa, CA to "reposition" me and pick up an empty there then wait for further instructions, I called in to see if this trailer needs dropped in Phoenix after im unloading, planners were messaged and im waiting for confirmations.
I dont understand Swift sometimes, always drivers sitting around waiting on a load near Fontana, seems smarter to send one of them who is less than 100 miles away compared to having me drive back to CA
Ohwell i get paid so I wont question it.

Side note its now irritating since I lost so much weight, i cant eat much at a time anymore so after 2 slices of my pizza I was full plus I ordered feta and spinach stuffed bread since the deal was 2 or more at $5.99, I took a couple extra slices out then went around to trucks giving away the rest, I made a couple drivers happy. I rather give it away then it go bad, dont have a fridge for leftovers. I spent $20 to eat a couple slices of pizza and stuffed bread lol
