Scottie, you might have the same thing happen to you that happened to you. Because I was doing Wally to Wally, Ottawa, I was automatically placed in the fleet. There was no way that I was doing Harrisonville. They burned me once, not trying for a second time.

Van Buren, OH. Home time was Monday, but they were trying to send me crap. My last pplan, pu soup and t-call it tomorrow in Columbus. Nope, not worth my time and it would have not given me the miles that I need to finish the week for truck payment. Everytime that I get in Memphis or Gary's planning area when home time and weekend, bend over. Finally then gave me a P-G load from Lime to Pinneville, LA, made a phone call and was told plenty of fr8 there to get me back home, so I jumped on it. Instead of home Monday, it will be Tuesday, but I can use the extra 1600 miles. Getting all that I can before the first of the year.

Well, I tried to install Windows 7 this morning.
Maybe I had a bad install disk, but it kept hanging before it even started.

So I decided to try Start8 by Stardock.
It's a little program that restores the start menu, and a few more things.
Everything is still right were it was in Win7, and I don't have that annoying interface to deal with anymore.
I'm happy again, and it only cost $5.

I also got WindowBlinds, which is a program for reskinning.
I've used it before in Win7. It's cool to be able to change the look and feel of the entire interface with a mouse click, and there are hundreds of themes to choose from.
    That was another $10.

You can always create a boot thumb drive and install with that instead of a disk next time.
My first computer I owned well family owned was a 286 and I think the hard drive was just megabytes but I didnt really get into tinkering and messing with stuff until I got a 486 and then I remember getting a great pc with an AMD 300mhz in it and thought it was incredible lol and I think it had like 32mb ram but been so long to remember.

Its crazy how much computers have come along in the last 10 years

Sitting at home right now for the night, went and dropped my trailer in Northridge at the JBL place and man the dock was hard trying to get into, they had crap stored all over the place. Was sent to pick up a reefer at the Budweiser plant and was supposed to take it to Lathrop for a customer who needs it soon but bud wouldnt let me take one since they claimed they needed it so called the DM and he asked if I wanted to just take the weekend off, I said no I want to make some money so he said I can start running the trailers for UPS lease and I could go home in between so I went home tonight since my hours were low anyway and will start tomorrow morning taking trailers from Adelanto drop yard to UPS in Sylmar.

Side note has anyone ever taken a CB into a shop to get a tune up and power adjustment and if so how much do they normally charge? My cb just doesnt receive too well and I read that the model I have usually needs tweaked since the watts are at like 4 and can be adjusted to 12 etc.

oh I thought I read 12w was legal

is there something I can do to improve my reception then? I sometimes will lose someone just a mile away, guess maybe an amp might help?

Increasing the output power won't help reception, it just means you transmit a stronger signal.

You could get a better antenna, but that's about all you can do.

A mile is pretty much the max distance with a transmission that is a mile away if the sender is at 4W.
CB's are not meant to have a great range in the first place.

4W carrier is the official number. You can "whistle up" 12W legally. A 4W carrier will transmit 12W at 100% modulation.

Assuming your receiver isn't out of alignment, the antenna system is the only place where you can improve receive performance. (And if you had your radio "peaked", it may well be out of alignment.)
