I had that experience with night/weekend folks at my last company. "Just stick with the fuel route." I did find if you went out of route, and then sent another fuel request it tended to reroute me the way I wanted.

    Same here.

They seem to be more interested in an on-time delivery, than your actual route.

Then again, I'd imagine getting in an accident while off-route would basically hose you.

I am not sure how anyone would get a ticket on that route it is a lot of 2 lane thru Indian Res and you get caught behind locals going freakishly slow quiet easily. I have done it in a car, fast, a truck is another matter plus your in and out of mountains the whole way Twisty Long 2 Lane yuck. Steve avoids it like the plague, doing the I40-I17 everytime.

I will go out of route sometimes if it saves time and fuel plus pain, the one example when leaving Modesto at the Frito lay they want you to go from the 99 catch the turn off going to Los Banos then get on the I5, that route adds a ton of time since its small farm roads with a lot of turns and slow zones, stay on the 99 until it hits the 5 and you only added 3 miles to the trip...

I will keep the replies about the speeds on my mind, today I only went down the grapevine going 40mph following behind another truck.

Sitting at the Loves in Tulare, got my salmon in the oven patiently waiting.

Back in Tulare at the Loves again, seems like today had a lot of idiots on the road coming partway into my lane, one truck almost took off my mirror coming into my lane.

Still in Champaign, IL. Now at a hotel. Finally found the cause, DPF filter. It has to be sent out and not back until Monday. Would have been nice if the truck was brought in on Wednesday and this found out. It would have been done Friday, then again, it would have been nice if the last 2 places that I was broke down at found this problem. I have to say that this hotel, very nice owners. They told me that if I did not book on line then I could have gotten a better price plus my points, so the owners wife had me call expedia and cancel while I was here, they called her, she confirmed with a excuse that I called them, she gave me a better rate plus bonus points. Even her husband gave me a ride to the store up the road to purchase some refreshments. Very nice owners.

Face blocked ... sent it off to be baked? ... Make sure they flow test and pin test it when it's done. If it doesn't pass it will need to be replaced.

TX ... no loads offered no preplans, no broker loads ... not going to panic yet, only have 30 hours to use, between now and midnight Monday.

Yep. Being sent out to get backed and cleaned and flow tested. A cummins specialist is involved. Already told that when done I am heading to PHX. Have the truck completely checked out

At home til Wed the 13th. Already have a load for Wednesday, preplan popped up while I was dropping my truck off at Freightliner. Need to find out why it suddenly likes collant. It's a DD15 so it might be the EGR cooler (sure bet with a Cummins).

NASCAR is in town so my side of Phoenix will be a bit wild this weekend. Don't care, it's my son's 12th birthday.
