I do as well, depending on the time of day I'll be going through.

For the past few months I've had routes that try to avoid any toll roads, at my expense in time and effort.
I'm really tired of the loaded miles being based on the short/fast route, and then being sent the long/slow way.
How can I plan a trip if they keep doing this to me, other than adding in many hours 'just in case' to the pplan?

I'm getting to the point of simply ignoring the fuel route and going the way I think is best.

busted my butt a little more today, did 577 miles which isnt too bad for California. Got a trailer in Otay and dropped it in Ontario and now he wants me to go back to that grainger in Patterson, CA to finish picking up 2 old MS trailers and dropping them at Anheiser in Van Nuys. I shut down with 12 min left on drive time in Firebaugh at the rest area, good thing im bobtailed since I had to squeeze between 2 trucks parked on the side, I knew stopping so late at night parking would be slim but I didnt worry since being bobtailed. Got 50miles or so to finish up in the morning then will run the trailer to Van Nuys and then turn around and get as far as I can again for Saturday pickup.

Think that I am stuck in Ardmore, OK. I had this sick feeling bringing a load here on a Friday. Mac 30 at first was crap, dh 103 to go 290 for Sat afternoon, dh 85 to go 200 for Saturday. Then sent a pplan, 810 miles by 1400 tomorrow, Pueblo with these nice late service failures. It is sitting in the yard in OKC. Was not even going to attempt that since it is not a fast run from OKC to Pueblo, plus home time in PHX 11/18, and no way getting from there on a weekend down to PHX.

Not to long after writing this, sent another pplan, 250 miles mt to AR, but then pu a 17K load going to San Bernadino for very early Tues. Should not have a problem getting out of there and getting one to PHX.

woke up in fernley nv to light rain. got to shipper and waieted for 1.5 hrs to what was suppose to be a drop and hook. left about 5am and hit couple of snow flurries and rain up to topaz lake area. i took 50/95/339/208 to 395(swift route) thought about just going i-80 to 395 but didn't want to go thru carson city. guy at shipper said the route swift gave was better and it was lol. sitting in mojave ca with 100 miles to go. sent a mac 22 to say i be there about 1530 and called my dl. he said i have till 1800. not what the dispatch said lol. least i know no service failure

too bad you cant get out west, tons of trucks in Phoenix and several in Mira Loma too just waiting for drivers..

Picked up the trailer at Grainger and ran it to Van nuys, turned around and drove to the Loves in Santa Nella which puts me about 29 miles from Grainger for the next trailer, 570 miles today but it felt like more.

thats easy answer...you're not hired yet when they bring you to orientation. only at the last day when you get coded and then they see what trucks are available.
