I77 in VA, at the Love's at exit 1.
Not sure of the name, and too lazy to check.
Brought a load of pallets to Kingsford in Parsons, WV last night. It was supposed to be a drop, but turned into a live unload.
No biggie. Before I was unloaded I get my next pplan, picking up at the same place and going to a Sam's DC in Charlotte, NC.
Delivery was a drop for 0001 on the 17th.
Not.
I adjusted the time for a 0800 delivery, since I was fairly certain it was a window until midnight.
Too few miles for the time involved, but I'm not about to get myself on a night schedule by delivering at midnight. I hate driving a truck at night, even though I loved night driving in my car.
In my car was relaxing, in the truck it is way too much stress.dptrucker Thanks this. -
Claude, TX. What a day of headwinds, I was either getting them head on or coming out of the SW. Dropped my MPG to 6.6. If these winds continue all the way west, this is going to be a very small profitable run. At least I was able to fuel up I Tulsa for $3.45 at the Quick Trip. Big boys, $3.55. Moose, better you than me. Kingsford is one place that is on my list, never, ever, never, again will I go there. First and last time, during the winter with the snow just a blowing.
-
I went there in the summer and am never going back ... Moose got lucky going south ... going north out of there it's 40 miles of 4th and 5th gear.
Drop in GA 0 dark hundred, then up to TN for a broker load going to NH. -
And yet, they try to make it easy for us drivers.
It is out of the way, with bad roads going in and out.
But they have a scale to weigh your load, and they will let you sleep there. (in the directions to the final it said that the scale was not accurate. But I scaled at a Pilot, and the weights were right on.)
And check-in and out couldn't be better.
But, I would not want to take that road in icy conditions. -
The one time that I went there, a pallet load going in, from the South, and loaded coming out, continuing north. Again, never again. I slept there that night and when I got up, at least another 3 inches of snow had fallen.
-
So you got there during snow time.
And now you won't go back even in good conditions? -
if 30 people show up to orientation in a location each week do you think they are going to have 30 trucks sitting there waiting? dont think so, and a lot of people out of orientation dont even get hired for various reasons and most will be off with a mentor anyway, and some terminals we need all the parking we can get so having it full of trucks waiting for drivers.....
there are a couple routes I dont care to drive either even in good conditions one being the 50 heading up into Pueblo, I sure as hell would not take that road during the winter.
Man I hate those old MS trailers, some of them are a pain to slide the tandems, I also couldnt use vice grips the way they are setup and after fighting with a bent arm that would not stay locked for 20 minutes I got smart with a hammer to wedge it in
