Still here in Goodyear. Truck was supposed to be ready today, and then this morning the Service manager calls me, tells me that when they pulled it out of the shop last night and parked it, they left the windows down. Last night a torrential down poor. Inside of truck gets flooded. They are now replacing the seats, pulling the matting and carpet for replacement and make sure that nothing else happed to it considering what is underneath. Now waiting for another phone call. At least got the drives replaced with some great used tires and was given a tire credit for $600.

Seems like the preChristmas push is over. I just got a load pulling 320 miles with a tad over 2 days to deliver it. Talked to the DM and it seems that there just isn't much available out of Mira Loma or Fontana.

At home, delivered my load yesterday and my next load does't pickup til tomorrow morning.

Had my first problem getting a broker load put on the truck. I commited to it @ 9:25 this morning and it STILL hadn't been sent to my truck by 12:30. So I called Command (again) AND called CSR. Must of made the right calls because it was sent to me (twice) within 10 minutes.

Swift needs to start firing anyone they find trying to penalize drivers. I'm talking crap like changing PTAs, blocking Mac30 loads, blocking/delaying broker loads, leaving refused loads on the truck, and the list goes on. I've already had a HEATED discussion with a terminal manager about his planners changing my PTA because I turned down a load.

Whenever I turn down a load I ALWAYS use the "ping" feature on the bottom of the Mac-34 to find out what my PTA is, and if it has been changed I use the Mac-34 to reset my PTA.

Dropped my load at Costco at 1815 with 3 hours left on my clock for today.
But I didn't want to take the chance of being sent a load 2 hours from now so I set my PTA for 0630 tomorrow.
And I finally have my laundry washing. :smt041

I was able to stop during my drive for a shower, so I am a happy camper tonight.

that pta issue always pissed me off, anytime I turned a load down they would blow my pta out by at least a day like little kids, or I have been shut down for 2-3 days in Washington/Oregon and I would find the planner reset my pta probably stopping me from layover? Dont know but they shouldnt be messing with our PTA

I am headed to drop a trailer off main street in LA, I would of been hitting LA right around 1700 so I decided to stop in Lebec and watch a movie and get on the forums for a couple hours, I would rather enjoy a couple hours than sit in traffic during rush for 2 hours. I will take off probably around 20:00 then drop it and either head to Fontana or Hesperia but have not decided yet. I am going to run trailers from Adelanto to keep me busy for the weekend, I hope where im dropping they have the gates open on Sunday since its an actual UPS yard and not a drop yard they rent, the other UPS yard was closed Sundays. I guess if they are closed then I will do a 34 afterall.

I am happy the pushing and hard work is paying off, looked at the portal and this next check beat all my records for weekly gross over $1k, good timing for thanksgiving and christmas.

I've had a load offer that was supposed to pick up at 1:00 this afternoon. Problem is there aren't any empties available at all. Seems they all got sucked up by Walmart for preholiday storage. The Fontana yard has a handful of loaded trailers, no empties. I'm "on the list" to get an empty. Hopefully I'll get one soon or I might as well take a 10 and start fresh in the morning.

Yeah, STAY ON TOP OF YOUR PTA SITUATION WITH MAC-34. I think they simply push back the PTA so you don't come back up on their planning board so they can "move on" to the next driver without having you keep popping up on their screen. ALWAYS ping the mac-34 to find out your PTA if you've modified times on a load offer and the load was pulled or is just sitting there without resolution. I do think that it would be good to go up the management chain if DM's or Planners are altering your PTA without your knowledge or consent.

Steve ... the planners don't see a broker load until it's on your truck ... the load goes to the broker CSR, who puts it on your truck and commits you to it. If it's taking awhile, you did the right thing confirming with Command - they can also give you the Swift LO number - and then call the CSR hotline.

I think the limited loads and PTA issue is less a planner issue, than an unintended consequence of Plus 1. Plus 1 is so geared to finding the load that matches your hours that it limits the loads that are offered. That's not to say that the planners can't influence it if they want - it's just that given all the issues drivers are having, I can't see the planners having that much time to screw with all the drivers that are having issues.

IN on my way to CO for a Monday unload ... lazy trip, time enough to do some laundry and restocking the pantry.
