The Swift site says physical damage insurance is 2.5% per $1000. So $25 per $1000, right? Is that an annual/semiannual amount broken down into weekly payments?

I've spent the last two hours practicing my shifting from 1st to 2nd to 1st to 2nd to ..... stuck eastbound on the I-210 and had to take a 30 in a "No Trucks" side street next to a Walmart in Monrovia. Thanksgiving traffic started EARLY today. I took a 10 at a rest stop on southbound I-5 and woke up to long waiting lines of 4 wheelers waiting to park, then waiting in line to use one of the 3 urinals or 2 toilets. I still have 4.5 hours on my 11 and 6 hours on my 14 to make my drop in Redmonds, then bobtail home for Thanksgiving. My wife is deep into cooking a feast today, getting ready to put on a spread tomorrow.

I already have a dispatch leaving Friday evening for Mississippi, a nice long haul. I guess most drivers are taking the full weekend off, and I'm game to run some miles over the weekend.

Might even get a round of golf in on this home time. Would be the first round this year. My wife is anxious to show me her trophy the ladies club gave her for holing out a 9 iron for an eagle on a par 5 last week (her first)... I hope I get strokes.... ;)

I'm hoping to catch a long haul over the weekend after this short 277 miler for the holiday.

I'm fortunate to know I've got that long haul ready to go on Friday. My DM is looking out for me, especially after getting hooked onto two loads that had me take a 34 and almost a 34 for live unloads in the last couple of weeks. Good to start gaining some miles back...

I'm in MO headed for a 1900 live unload near Dallas on Thanksgiving.
I'm hoping they are receiving that day, since the phone number I have seems to be not much use at all.
Then I'll have about 30 minutes left to find somewhere to park. There is a Walmart nearby, and I'm hoping they allow truck parking.

Lepton1, "I've spent the last two hours practicing my shifting from 1st to 2nd to 1st to 2nd to ....."
    Why?
In nearly 3 years I have never started out in 1st, and seldom in second. It is usually in 3rd or 4th, depending if I am super heavy or not.
But the time it takes to shift from 1st to 2nd, or from 2nd to 3rd, negates the pulling power of those gears. You lose the speed with the time it takes to shift.

Glass coverage and DBD (deductable buy down) are optional. Yes I pay for ATBS accounting, also optional.

Thats great. Thanks for sharing that, Steve. What is the deductible buy down? Does it lessen your deductible for physical damage coverage? I would definitely take the glass coverage and probably use ATBS as well. Thank you, thank you!

yep I was on that 210 today after noon....when I finally made it to the 5 turn off I saw the 5 at a stop and thought crap....I took the 14 exit and called my dm and said im taking off a day early since its not worth this trouble trying to get the trailer, told him I will return on sunday which he was cool with. 14 was smoooth sailing, got home and got the wife and daughter and we headed to the beach, the 58 going to the 99N was pretty smooth since it was a little past an accident they were clearing up, went up and caught the 46 on over to the 101.

LA highways and i5 was just brutal for today.

Sitting in a hotel room in San Luis Obispo, will hit the pier for some fishing tomorrow, maybe do some shopping and eat clam chowder at my all time favorite place in Pismo if they are open.

You are about 10 minutes away from that Pilot (maybe a Loves now) at exit 65 on 35W north of Ft Worth. Take a left out of Kroger to the light, left at the light to 170. Left on 170 to 35w. You will the truckstop on the SE corner.
