Not sure of the city but I'm camping out at the Cabela's off I80/94 x2 in IN.
I picked up my load under sunny skies in Morris, and once I got near the IN line things got really bad.
The traffic slowed to around 2 MPH and the lake effect snow started coming in.
I was hearing on the CB about several jackknifed trucks ahead, one at x6 Burr St., so I figured here was probably a better choice than those truck stops on Burr St.
I had planned to stop here anyway because I needed a new winter shirt.

There is a good 6" in the parking lot, and the area is supposed to get another 6-12" today.
I'm staying put until it clears.

MTd out ... bad news no loads, none from Swift, none from the broker and even the DAT board says no loads in the area :( ... good news, if I'm going to be stuck, at least I'm in AZ.

I have a question for O/O's or L/P O/O's regarding your comments about using brokers or load boards. If you own your truck (not L/P) and then lease your truck to Swift (they pay the license, etc.) is the lease agreement non-binding in terms of hauling Swift loads only? How about if you are L/P?

The lease agreement - which is the same whether you bring on a truck or get it from IEL- with Swift is exclusive to pulling loads for Swift or through their approved broker. More or less the case with any carrier that you lease onto and run under their authority.

That's the whole point of leasing. The carrier supplies the authority with associated administrative support and you provide them exclusive use of your truck.

Now you can get your own authority and pull for Swift or any carrier on a power only contract. Though I don't think Swift is that big on power only, except for maybe in the container area. See a lot of those in and out of Lathrop.

The lake effect snow warning has been extended to 1700, and traffic is still going around 5 MPH.
I sent the Mac22 with a 01/22 1200 delivery time, and I got the 'new PTA' message from planners confirming it, so I think I'll just wait until early tomorrow morning to head out.
I want the roads as clear as possible... I am such a wimp when it comes to this type of weather.

Company store has the window screens, if you ever get to a terminal with one.

They have me hopping this week. Going to be bouncing in and out of San Bernardino; my first excursion into CA with more than two axles.

Cleveland, TN. By the time that I get empty, I will be able to go across the street to the dirt staging area. It was supposed to be a 1500 appointment and they do not even start to receive until 1830. Then the good old load system changes my delivery apt for my next load. It is a command load so of course I will not pay attention.. It del on Thursday between 0800-1600 and also on Friday. I will be loaded at 1000 in the morning, and the system says del Thursday by 1215, 850 miles away. Now I will just wait until morning, send in my ETA and PTA and wait for the computer to say that I am late. Heck with them.
