Good night from...

Just outside of Kansas City, MO at a tiny truck stop off of I-35.

I lucked out and had plenty of time on this load for a 34 and my little brother's wedding is tomorrow in eureka springs, ar. My wife had flown in to my hometown in Tulsa, OK for the wedding so she made the 4 hr drive to pick me up and luckily we have some family nearby where we can stay tonight then go to the wedding then it's back on the road for me bright and early Sunday heading to Memphis.

Since the customer had run my hours out this morning during my delivery I pulled the curtains and went to sleep for my 10.
About 5 hours later I was rousted awake by a person telling me that I can't stay.
I ignored it the first time after telling him that I had no hours left to drive.
A few minutes later he came back, threatening to have me towed if I didn't leave. He said I had to either drive away, get another driver there to drive the truck away, or get it towed.
I called a DM in Fontana and explained what was happening. He said I had to move it if the customer said I had to move.

I was able to limp at under 15 MPH for about a mile to a Walmart, so I never got put on the drive line.

What a fun day. And I'll never accept a load going to that place again.

I'm here for some home time with my girls.
We are going to Boondock's tomorrow and the museum on Sunday.

Parked here in Lathrop, a lot more free spots compared to last time I was here and a few less central but their presence is still around. Will get up in the morning to try and get my 90 day bit done and will tell them im dedicated with a load on me right now and a load dispatched already on me back at the dc heading to Riverbank Modesto. My load is ready at 1700 so if I can try to get out of here by 1400 or so then I should be golden, I could leave as late as 1700 and still make the times but rather get going as early as I can.

 

flyyin j frazier park ca. just got a much needed shower. had some problem with this volvo. once i hit the truck bypass on s i-5(before laval rd) truck seemed to be loosing power. thought it mite be thwe incline and the 77000 lbs. stopped at petro for panda xpress dinner, then headed here. got about 2 miles past scalehouse and went down to first gear by time i hit thew steep part. pulled over and looked around the engine and didnt se anything falling off lol. called onroad and was on hold for 40 minutes. sent the mac 55 and said it be 89 minutes. only had 1.5 hrs by then. so decided to limp to this t/s.about half mile truck gained power back and made i here with no issues. figured out how to.do.a parked regen and wil see if that helps when i leave here. btw...onroad finally called 6 hrs later

 

Been on the mentor's truck for just over a week. Supposed to be flatbed but due to wanting a non-smoker and an apparent lackk of non-smoking flatbed mentors I was paired up with a dry van. No big deal though, was told I could still go flatbed when I finish so we will see. Shifting came back to me quickly and the backin is getting slowly better. Our current load delivers in Oakland, CA Tuesday and I will take over tonight around 8 pm. All has been good so far with no issues other than the normal waiting and some icy roads in Louisiana earlier this week.

Waiting to see if I get my 90 day bit done, I explained I had a load and another waiting, he comes back all peed off asking if this is what we are going to do for now on, i asked what is that "show up with a load" I replied I dropped a load but have one heading back....he takes off then comes back a few minutes later saying they will see what they can do, he asked if we had another truck up here and I told him if we do its most likely a daycab and I have a sleeper and live in it....

I have a physical scheduled to renew my medical on Monday so its not possible to get back here tomorrow night then try again, guess I will see what happens.

 

I have been there once on a fed ex load last year. First and only time I have had an In and Out burger. Hope to repeat that experience at some point. Definitely the best fast food burger I have ever tried.

 

I have had in and out a few times, wasnt impressed the last couple, it seems sometimes each location is a bit different. When I lived in Visalia, CA the in and out there was good.

 

All I have at home are the crappy standard fast food joints (McDonalds, BK etc.) My mentor just pulled in at a Whataburger in TX which is another I have wanted to try. Got a double and it was good.

 

at the loves in yuma az. 3 miles from final and doesnt deliver till monday at 0700. not much to do here except to watch the marine jets take off. guess the parked regen worked cause had no issues getting here
