Still in Denver, CO.
My PTA was for 1000 today and they decided to send me a pplan picking up at 2200, and had me driving all night.
I turned it down saying I could not drive all night after being up all day. I've tried that scene, and I hate it.
My next load picks up at 0900 tomorrow, which is fine with me. I'd rather sit for a day than drive unsafely all night.
Good night from...

At the J in Ft Stockton, TX. 300 miles from my first stop in San Antonio then 50 miles to San Marcos for the final, both tomorrow. Made it here from Phoenix, 688 miles LEGALLY! Cannot DO THAT in a company truck.

Here at our Richmond terminal.
Gonna put the truck in the shop in the morn for a B-service and then my co-driver will hop on my truck and we will hit the road. -
Nebraska is worse... :0(

Transitions are always the pits .. especially for the company that has to make the change. There is really no smooth way around it. Particularly in this circumstance, where a large group of the support personnel were to either be relocated or laid off.
It's almost better to do it quickly and without much warning. It'll be ugly, but short lived. The alternative is to try and do it slowly and hope for smoothly. Invariably though, the affected staff start to bail and will even sabotage. So instead of short term turmoil, you get a long lingering festering disaster.
One point you make, to me is a red flag. A dedicated payroll clerk? That tells me Centrals payroll system/process was very inefficient. In 4 years here at Swift, I've spoke with payroll maybe 4 times. And every time Swift was able to correct the issue in literally real time. As soon as I hung up the phone, I would refresh my statement the correction was made.Lady K Thanks this. -
Payroll wasn't bad... In the beginning it was tracking down detention mostly... That went through another dept, and I verify every detail ... Tracking it down if not there <bwahahaha> We were OTR at that time. Then when we went dedicated it was reimbursing load locks... Plus I got to say HI to a smiling voice on the other side
She is an older lady (LOL ... My age) so getting new employment might be a challenge. She didn't want to relocate because all of her family and friends were in SLC.

Thread is getting pretty big. I'd like to close this one down, if someone would kindly start another one and PM me and let me know. Just doing a little housekeeping here. LOL Thanks!

I learned (the HARD way) to ALWAYS use line 5 whenever I put the truck in the shop. That way when you shut the truck off the QC will default to off-duty and default back to line 5 if you drive the truck. Even if you had logged off SOMEBODY would have assigned the time to you, DAMHIK?

Can you call safety for them to 'correct' it?
