I appreciated the advice I got last time and would like to hear some thoughts on a trip I'm taking tomorrow. My load is from Nebraska near 80 to the Anaheim area having plenty of time. I'll be ready to drive around 1pm cst loaded between 70-77k. I can either go Cheyenne, Denver, or some state hwys to get to I25. I've been though Denver this year with a story as long as anything I could think of.....snow, night, chaining for the 1st time while it went from day to night, no bungees, almost loosin chains, chains wrapped inside drives, the list goes & went on, so at least I know what to expect that way. Alternatively Cheyenne. Any experience with grades, how many, highest percentage? Chance of snow? Any and all thoughts welcome.

well one end of NE is different from the other end by 450 miles
but if you can chain just go 80 to 15
you can't always worry about weather 2-3 days in advance

MyRadar app shows clear sailing, other than some wind, all across I-80. If I were in your shoes I'd run across Wyoming to I-15, then all the way to LA.

Your only big hill will be Parley, from Park City to Salt Lake. The hills across Wyoming aren't bad unless there's a blizzard. Be patient on Parley. Cajon Pass isn't bad if you avoid rush hour in the morning.

Absolutely. Don't run that way unless Wyoming is shut down.

While I-80 is longer by about 80 miles, it's MUCH faster.

    You ran I-70?

Expect to chain. Chains may not be required, but really take care and slow down as you approach the west end of the Eisenhower Tunnel. Mountains make their own weather, and you may find yourself entering a blizzard.
