I have to ask as I have been interested in this company in the past and may consider them in the future once I have a little more of the industry figured out...........
But if you are leasing to own, with every intention of buying the truck and this not being a "set up to fail" type lease, why do you pay a pet deposit?
Good or Bad??

because when u lease u get a new truck, and we have SO many guys that come here never having flatbedded before and right off the bat lease a truck like an idiot then find out flatbed is way more work than they could have imagined and quit leaving us with a truck thats been destroyed by a pet. When a lease guy leaves the truck usually gets turned into a company truck i think, thats what i drive is an old lease guys truck.
The pet deposit is to help fix any damages your pet may have incured and not even things like chewing but the pet hair clogs up the evaporator core for the a/c and will wear it out sooner than guys with no pets, so its only there to help protect the company against eating the cost of things like that.
I will say i hear OUR lease guys have it tough right now because of the fuel and in particular flatbed freight fluctuates more than say reefer freight so we have ups and downs like u cant imagine sometimes.
I am a company driver and get plenty of miles so the fuel and all that dont hurt me, as long as im moving im making money so i see no reason to go lease and run with the constant fears of fuel and freight.
Melton is a great company to be a company driver ive been here a year and love it still. Ive been treated great and have had no problems with anything or getting anything fixed on the truck or trailer no matter what it was. But as i said the lease is a different story mainly because of the fuel and whatnot right now so i would not recommend leasing from here.
good luck and take care

I think you got your threads mixed up. This is about John Christner Trucking that only pulls reefers.Big Duker Thanks this.
-
ya i did lol, i dunno how the heck that happened lol, i swore i hit reply to another thread and now its here, i dunno
-
hahahaha, It happens man. No worries. I was definitely curious as to when JCT started pulling flatbeds though
-
Yeah, it is easy to get mixed up as to what you are writing about on here. Anyway, have a good one.
-
With JCT pulling reefer.....Who covers the lumper fee.
I would also like to know what the drivers are bringing home after fuel and trk payment...etc..
Thanks for the info...I am looking into the company -
JCT will pay the lumper fee's they send you the efs # and turn in the reciept.I bring home 1200. after truck payment and fuel on 3300 miles. Its not about how many miles you run its about how you run those miles.
-
Thanks for your answere wizzard,
That is what I thought, 1200 is not bad for the miles you do after trk, fuel, etc. I know some of these outfits with the lease programs are a big joke, but from what I have been reading on JCT they seem to have a good program going. I would like to ask you another question. What is their driver turnover rate ? -
You wil never find fault in just 6 months.
That's the idea, to make you happy so you can past the word on to other potential idiots. On any lease-purchase you will only end up $200.000 - in the hole at the end of the lease. A lease purchase is only designed for the company to make money; NOT THE DRIVER. If all it took was to lease a truck then pay a $1 at the end with the $80.000 dollar balloon payment, See they never mention that do they? You see instead of zingging you at the begginning they zing you at the end of the lease, but by that time most people have ran away so fast; now those other idiots can get the truck they wanted.......while the ones who had them are now working at JB Hunt. Always bare in mine; if it were that easy there would be no need for Companies, everyone would lease their truck then buy it outright for $1.
Including me.
