And make sure you have all your signs and flags if you're going to do oversize and lights too if required

Here’s the thing too, at 11’6” you gotta be careful. Most states @ 12’ and up requires escort vechicle/s. And you usually want to permit 6” or so past the stated width to account for any slight error.

so I would permit that at 11’11” and check with my permit company to make sure an escort won’t be needed for some reason. A pilot car would be $1.50 a mile or so plus hotel cost for however many miles you need em. The $3 a mile ain’t great, but it’s not crazy bad either.

There are some variables that a guy can use too.
Many states have extended permits, like here I can get a 30 day permit for 20 bucks more and can take any route I want, with no pickup and drop points listed. I did yearly permits a lot when I ran down south too, for the same reasons.
I would be hard put to get excited over an 11.5 load paying 3 bucks a mile though, add in permits and some states travel times and kerfus going through some areas, it may just come out less than what a guy makes on a legal load.

My last 3 oversize loads, all air handling plenums. All legal high less than 30,000# no tarp.
Iowa to Ohio 485 miles, 9'10" wide $2,600
Wisconsin to Oregon 2,100 miles 11'2" wide $6,500
Oregon to Louisiana 2,200 miles 9'6" wide $5,000
    Just to compare.
Legal load from Louisiana to Wisconsin 875 miles $2,100

All loads in December before Christmas and off the load board.
    I have a 48' stepdeck

What? I will give you a dollar if you can show me where I’m supposed to sign this Indiana Permit from yesterday.

Not required, but I sign all my permits on the bottom of the page. Just a habit of mine.

I guess some guys can be dazzled them with brilliance and baffled with ########, but not me. Indiana permits are not required to be signed. They don't expect drivers to be mind readers, This is not the lunch counter.
