I am picking up a new to me flatbed this weekend and I'm looking replace the outer steel wheels with aluminum. Does anybody have any recommendations of places I can go to get some good solid aluminum wheels?
Good source for Wheels?

Used. Next time you go to Houston...right off i10, an exit or 2 west of the east side of the 610 loop. There's a bunch of those salvage yard places. They have good wheels for about half of what one would cost brand new.
EDIT: Looked on a map...
It's McCarty Street. I10 to the west of the east side of the 610 loop, 2nd exit west. Go south on McCarty. There's 4-5 salvage yards on that road. Some of the wheels will look brand new. I broke wheels going off-road and I've bobtailed there and bought them. You may even be able to sell your old steelers.Last edited: Oct 2, 2017

Rons rims ebay for new. Good prices. Or salvage yard. But alumimum on the outside is only for show, switch all 8 to aluminum for weight savings and tire wear. Aluminum wheels are more true than steel. If you do put a aluminum wheel next to steel, a plastic spacer and anti sieze is your friend.

Right along with your Freightliner and IHC, and all the parts for the big 3 auto makers.
They still have better quality than some Chinese -
Just my opinion but a quality polish job always shines brighter than a dura brite.
Orangees, SAR, johndeere4020 and 2 others Thank this.
