It seemed to be doing a live counter update when I was checking it out last night, so I'm not sure what that is about. If I can ask another favor of you, please: 1) Google "thetruckersreport.com" 2) Check if the top result on the Google page has the +1 button highlighted next to it 3) Report back To clarify, this isn't a literal popularity contest with official winners/losers. A lot of sites will be adding the Google +1 button in the coming months, and I want our number to be higher than their numbers. What can I say, I'm a petty, petty man. I hear members asking for TruckersReport t-shirts, but I don't really want to get into the headache of selling them. So how about this: if we get that +1 button to 1000, I'll have a bunch of t-shirts made and just give them away. Sound good?
Well, OK, I did it. But frankly, I'm not impressed with all the hoops they want you to jump through. I've had a Google account for years, but apparently even THAT wasn't good enough. They wanted me to create a "public profile." FWIW, I just used my user name here. Anybody dumb enough to actually create a true "public profile" on the internet, in todays world, is just asking for problems.
Thanks for going through that. I was not aware there were additional hoops beyond a Google account. I definitely agree with you about not keeping a true public profile, so I'm not sure why it was so quick for me.
I've had a google email account for years now and when I clicked on the button it was just a couple of clicks of the mouse and I was all finished.
