Forgive me for feeling this way or expressing this on the forum,
but this was outright HORRIBLE what the son was doing, at the time he was doing it, that is, while his father was on his death bed.

    SADLY and UNFORTUNATELY,
I, along with my family, watched both of my parents pass away on their death beds:

    1) My father, while he was in the hospital, 7/2/1981, almost 33 years ago, he was 59, very close to turning 60, (8/30/1921 - 7/2/1981), passed away from leukemia.

    2) My mother, at home in her own bed, 9/30/2007, almost 7 years ago, she was 86, (5/31/1921 - 9/30/2007), passed away from heart disease and diabetes.

In fact, when my mother passed away, it was 2 days after having been discharged from the hospital, having been in there for 3 weeks. IRONICALLY EERIE & STRANGE, BUT TRUE, she had received her wish to NEVER die in a hospital or nursing home.

    HOLY MOSES!!

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

Mje... sorry for your loss and I dont really want to offend anyone but I kinda question the accuracy of that statement.
while I am no heartland fan we have to be careful of trucker tales...

    mje Thanks this.

Knight is Ok...but you wont make much money. $400 to $600 a week. They give many options on Homtime and Pay. Their freight is up and down, but alot of loads running up and down I-5.

Yes i work for Knight and this is my Average weekly pay. I took this from a friday to a friday since today is friday.
All depends on how you like to run. Most times i do make around this but there is quite a few times i do bring in more.
Some people complain about not getting loads but then you find out they decided to turn down the short load that
was giving to them but they do not realize that #### short load was going to set them up for the long load. I think
I have turned down maybe 2 loads so far since i came on with Knight.
OK Knight by no means is a perfect company. No APU on trucks, 65 is the top speed if your idle percentage is low.
The trucks are nice though. 2014 international prostar with the isx-15 motors is the truck i have now. Nice it is.
If you are just starting out in driving Knight is not a bad company to run with but this is the only company i have tried
so far so i can not say anything about any other companis. Notice i said STARTING out with. Down the road i will
eventually go with another company as i get my years in. I am going to wait at least until my 5th year of driving
before i switch companies. 2 years in and i will still say i am a rookie. I keep that in mind due to the fact i don't
know everything and if i do know everything then #### i better hang up the driving before i kill myself or
someone else behind the wheel. Good luck with your decision.

What he said. Knight, like any company, is in the business to make $$. They can only do that when the trucks run miles, with a driver driving said truck. A truck getting low miles makes no one $$.

Your pay sheet shows 9 days. I realize it must have some days off on there with the zero dollar entries. I still see it as how much you made in 9 days. If this is normal you average about $1153 per week. Not picking on you just saying.

    mje Thanks this.

I worked for both Knight Transportation and Knight Refrigerated (had to quit and come back 3 months later as they didn't do transfers) and I can tell you I took all loads and didn't make near what Tallman posted. Having said that they are not a bad starter company. If you're willing to stay out a min of 3 weeks you may get lucky and get more miles. I came home every two weeks so my miles were terrible.

    mje Thanks this.

Actually i am on a dedicated Ikea account. Lucky for me that i do get to be home every three days for the night for at least 10 to 15 hours at a time. My wife likes it too since i am not home for 2 or 3 days at a time.

    mje Thanks this.

    EXCELLENT MONEY
    !
    $1153 a week X 52 weeks = $59,956 a year, (very close to $60,000 a year, divided by 12 months = $5,000 a month).

    WOW!!

Congratulations and more power to you!

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
