Yes my recruiter said its a heartland terminal but he told me I'd b dispatched out of gti terminal in Indy, don't no if that's true,oh and believe me I no how recruiters lie,I worked for Carlisle carriers and they did nothing but lie to me so I'm definitely gonna b a little more weary for now on,for all who replied who r you all working for?

I'm with Lessors out of Minnesota. We also have terminals in Florida and Idaho and a satellite location for the music tours we pull near Nashville.

Depends on what kind of runner you are. Starts between .35-.40 a mile. You can take up to a week off. Not sure if you're in the hiring area. You're at least 150 miles from most of our regular stops out east (Front Royal, VA; Georgetown, DE, etc). I'll check for you and see what's up.

time-to-run, a Heartland driver who described HTLD as 'the best job' he ever had, also described the Carlisle, PA terminal as one of the two worst, the other bad one is in West Virginia.

I liked driving for Gordon because of good equipment and never asked to run illegally. But the paychecks were absolutely puny. After I left Gordon (and hooked up another job) I decided to write up my experience because the money was so bad.

There are two recent 'interviews' on my thread with current Heartland drivers. Neither had anything bad to say about HTLD, one just doesn't like trucking and he makes less than the other because he gets home every weekend. Still makes $45K.

The other, Noah, makes--I think it was--$58K-$65K but runs system. Always out 2 weeks and if he doesn't request home time is automatically routed home after 3 weeks out.

I don't know anything about either Carrier Time To Run but I do know about making tough decisions. Sure we have to think of all the angles but don't over-think. A very fine line between the two thought processes.

I have usually found going with your "gut feeling" works the best and no..not talking about a beer or two. (this time) :)

Yeah I know what u mean bumpy,I don't really no much about either as well, just what other drivers from both companies r telling me,just wanna make a great decision and great career move,in my driving career so far s&h express and Carlisle carriers were a joke and need to find a great fit and a good home and also good $!:biggrin_25519:

I know what you mean.About my advice-if you go with your gut-that's usually where your heart is anyway..And you will need that to 'make it work'.

About your 2nd paragraph..Trucking is tough to find one's niche in that just on this run (as every run I do) I talk to people out here.I've found happy people working for Carriers I would NEVER work for,but that's OK. More power to them. We're all different and have different tolerances, expectations etc..

If everything worked for everybody it would be one Hell of a boring lif...Huh? :) Even if in the event it doesn't work out it truly isn't the end of the World for ya-although I know a PITA still- you get up...dust yourself off...and try it again. "That" I do know of what I speak..LOL
