For those of you with 2500 watt inverters and a volt meter on your dash, what happens when you turn on, lets say, your Microwave?
I have been having a SERIOUS voltage drop issue lately. I show 14.1 volts, then I turn on the microwave or coffee machine and then she starts to fall:
13.9, 13.8, 13.7, 13.6, 13.5, 13.4, 13.3, 13.2 then BAM! Back up to 14.1
Why, BECAUSE WHEN IT DROPPED TO 13.2 IT BLEW MY FUSE/CIRCUIT BREAKER
So, I had them change out my alternator thinking this was the problem, but NOPE, still does it. I tried a smaller inverter and she drops too.
Any ideas?

my guess would be weak batteries, or a bad ground connection with the inverter
-
Well the inverter is grounded in TWO places, once to the battery and once to the chassis. It may be a bad battery or two, I will try switching the Positive to another battery in the bank of 4.
-
I switched to the other side of the batteries and I think that fixed it...she holds firm at 13.8. Yes, I may have a bad battery or two, but I will get that checked later.

I had the same problem and yes, its the battery. What sucked was the maintenance dept tried telling me it wouldnt be covered under warranty, to bad I told them it was there inverter and not my problem, #### i love that fact.
But yes, it will drain that specific battery alot faster and when you notice that, switch over to the next battery, and when you get to the last one, try to get the shop to change all 4 if your company, so you can rinse and repeat, hehe.
